A private funeral Mass for Bernice Ann Boller Erichsen will be held at St. Xavier’s Catholic Church with Father Gnanasekar officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Erichsen passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020 at the age of 90. She was born Dec. 9, 1929 to Frank E. and Mary Ann Arkell Boller in Junction City. Her entire life was spent in the Geary County community; a community she served in numerous ways. She attended grade school in Eastern Geary County at the Enterprise School. Her high school years were spent at St. Xavier’s where she graduated in 1948. Following graduation she worked for an insurance company as a stenographer-secretary and then later at Fort Riley in the fiscal office and the Post Chaplain’s Office. On June 23, 1949 she married Clarence R. Erichsen at St. Xavier’s Church. This past June marked their 71st anniversary. Her husband survives at the home. Together Bernice and Clarence built their lives around their children, their parents, school and church activities. Bernice was a member of the St. Xavier’s Church Alter Society; Circle 4; the Parish Choir and served as secretary for the Parish Council for 7 years. She was also heavily involved with the St. Xavier Alumni Association, oftentimes cooking the entire meal for the annual reunion banquet herself. She was a volunteer at Valley View Senior Life for 10 years and worked on the Geary County Election Board for 10 years. She was involved in Girl Scouts of America; Boy Scouts of America and the Rolling Meadows Ladies’ Golf Association. She loved gardening, both vegetables and flowers and spent many summers in a hot kitchen canning the goods from the family’s garden. Bernice was always willing to help others. She often told her children it was easier to give than to receive. She is survived by her husband of the home; her children, Steve Erichsen and fiancé Debbie Jones; Eileen and Dale Small; Rock and Liz Erichsen; Dennis Erichsen, Jeanette and Marte DeMars; all of Geary County; grandchildren Stephanie Edmonson, Kelly Kramer, Christian Erichsen, Crystal Erichsen, Chrissa Erichsen, Hailey Browning; nine great-grandchildren; her sister Wilma Lathrop; her sister-in-law Peggy Boller; brother-in-law Bob Wilson and dozens of nieces and nephews. Darlene Joy (McElroy) Smith was born on January 18, 1928, in Jewell, KS, to Elvin and Ruby (Vignery) McElroy. Darlene departed this life on August 2, 2020, at Meadowlark Hills – Scenic House, Manhattan, KS, at the age of 92. Darlene grew up in Mankato, KS. As a teen she worked at the Ute Movie Theatre, actively participated in all high school activities, and later was a switchboard operator at the Southwestern Bell Telephone office. She graduated from Mankato High School in 1946. Darlene married the love of her life, Walter Dean “Ole” Smith, in October 1946, in the Mankato Harmony Methodist Church. Their first home was in Salina, KS, until Walt graduated from Kansas Wesleyan. Darlene and Walt then moved to Montrose, KS, where she was Walt’s #1 supporter as he accepted the job of principal and coach for the Montrose Public Schools. Together, they began their new phase in life of raising their three children; Ron, Rick, and Cam. The Smith family moved to Manhattan, KS, in 1957, starting Walt’s career in the K-State Union, with Darlene beside him every step of the way. Darlene and Walt were active members of the Blue Valley Memorial United Methodist Church and they served many community organizations. In 1972, they accepted an opportunity to work and serve KSU A.I.D. at Ahmadu Bello University in Nigeria. An experience they would talk about often with family and friends. Darlene and Walt were also known for their “Open Heart-Open House” legacy of having nieces, great nieces, and grandchildren, live with them while attending K-State, creating wonderful memories for all who benefited from their generosity. In 1966, Darlene began her career outside the home. She provided bookkeeping and billing services for medical offices, retiring in 1991. Darlene stayed very active and enjoyed her retirement years. She loved to travel to see family and friends. She also enjoyed playing bridge, bowling, golfing, and she was a wonderful seamstress. In addition, Darlene was the “finder and keeper” of family genealogy. Darlene continued to maintain their home, including all yardwork, after Walt suddenly passed away in 1996. In June 2018, she moved into Meadowlark Hills Assisted Living. Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Walt Smith; youngest sister, Joyce Bradrick; mother Ruby Vignery McElroy Billing; step-father, Millard Billing; and father, Elvin McElroy. Darlene is survived by her three children: Ron (Kahrmelle) Smith of Larned, KS, Rick (Aline) Smith of Sequim, WA, and Cam (Britt) Feltner of Manhattan, KS; four grandchildren: Jamie Smith Lira, Kelli Smith, Jessica Feltner and Curtiss Feltner; three great-grandchildren: Aiden Lira, Davis Lira and Walter Feltner; one sister, Jody McElroy File of Courtland, KS; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was born May 25, 1937, in Galveston, Indiana, the daughter of Arthur and Beulah (Langston) Pullen. Treva graduated from Galveston High School and attended Purdue University for two years. On August 18, 1957, in Center Church near Young America, Indiana, she was married to Robert Hess Hines. Treva was a member of the First United Methodist Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed arts and crafts and made many wreaths and dolls from corn shucks. She also volunteered for Homecare and Hospice doing respite care, and also helped at Kansas State University in the Registrar’s office. Survivors include her husband of Manhattan; one son Brian R. Hines and his wife Donna of Quincy, Michigan; and two granddaughters: Cailyn and Payton. Treva was preceded in death by one son Jeffrey Dion Hines at the age of 17; her parents, and two siblings: Marjorie in infancy and her brother Marion. Patty Jo was a member of the Potwin Methodist Church and enjoyed going out with a ladies group to eat dinner. Peggy was born on November 8, 1938, in Kingsport, Tennessee, to Horace and Bonnie (Bragg) Dolen Sr. She was a 1957 graduate of Sullivan High School in Sullivan County. As a young lady she worked at Mason-Dixon as a file clerk for one year. She later moved to Junction City, Kansas, where she met a young soldier stationed at Fort Riley from Grand Island, Nebraska, by the name of Jerry M. Blevins. They married December 4, 1958 at the First Christian Church in Junction City. She attended and graduated Crum's Beauty School and had worked at a beauty salon in Junction City for several years before dedicating her life to her family at home. In November of 1968, the marriage was blessed with a son, Jerry Michael. Peggy was a life long member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary and was the Secretary of the Senior Center Site Council for several years. She loved to oil paint and would proudly displayed many of her paintings for all to enjoy at the Senior Center. Peggy had done some ancestral investigation. Along that journey, she discovered that she is descended from Scottish royalty. She was always proud to let people know that her 20th great-grandfather was the First King of Scotland, Robert the Bruce. Peggy is survived by her loving family: her son, Jerry Michael (Jessi) Blevins of Manhattan, KS; three grandchildren Ellian, Tuesday, and Anders Weisbeck; one great-grandchild Zinnia Weisbeck; her two sisters Patsy Davis of Kingsport, TN, and Phyllis Harrison of Fairmount ,IN; and a host of loving family and friends. Lawrence D. Prawl passed away on August 17, 2020, at his home near Manhattan from natural causes. He was born November 11, 1959, in Calcutta, India, to Warren and Nancy Prawl. He graduated from Manhattan High School. Lawrence (always known as Larry) is survived by his parents, daughter Kylie, son Hayden, brothers Brian (Debbie) of Raymore, MO, and Greg (Hiroko) of Arvada, CO, and partner Cristina Asher of the home. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed watching wildlife from his urban home off Deep Creek Road, southeast of Manhattan. He kept a heard of elk for many years and later raised quail as a business. Lawrence D. Prawl passed away on August 17, 2020, at his home near Manhattan from natural causes. He was born November 11, 1959, in Calcutta, India, to Warren and Nancy Prawl. He graduated from Manhattan High School. Lawrence (always known as Larry) is survived by his parents, daughter Kylie, son Hayden, brothers Brian (Debbie) of Raymore, MO, and Greg (Hiroko) of Arvada, CO, and partner Cristina Asher of the home. Larry was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt. He enjoyed watching wildlife from his urban home off Deep Creek Road, southeast of Manhattan. He kept a heard of elk for many years and later raised quail as a business. Anthony Roy “Tony” Rock, age 76, of Manhattan, died August 17, 2020, at Stormont-Vail Health in Topeka. He was born August 22, 1943, in Junction City, Kansas, the son of William L. and Frances Ruby (Knopp) Rock. He worked for The Boeing Company on NASA projects and then for Northern Natural Gas Company that later became Enron Corporation as a code compliance engineer for the Gas Pipeline Group. He loved to bow hunt deer and volunteered for the Corp of Engineers and State Department of Wildlife and Parks annual youth and disabled deer hunt. On February 23, 1985, at Omaha, Nebraska, he was married to Joleen J. DeCamp. Mrs. Rock survives of the home in Manhattan. Helen W. (Penny) Socolofsky, age 96, passed away at Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan on August 16, 2020. Numerous children and grandchildren were at her side during her almost three weeks in hospice. Penny was born on March 14, 1924 in Republic County, KS to Alfred L. Wright and the former Esther Charles. She married Homer E. Socolofsky on November 23, 1946. He predeceased her in 2005. She is survived by their six children, Robert (Jean) of Denver, CO, Jennifer Sims (Bill), of Lawrence, Thomas (Annamarie) of Mission, TX, Edward of Roeland Park, Theodore (Claudia) of Loveland, CO, Elizabeth Socolofsky-Howe of Warrensburg, MO, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Penny lived in Manhattan since 1937, and graduated from Manhattan High School in 1941. She attended Kansas State University and Christ Hospital School of Nursing in Topeka, graduating in 1946, and worked for many years as a registered nurse at Memorial Hospital and St. Mary's Hospital (now merged to form Via Christi Hospital) in Manhattan. In 1981, she retired from her nursing career as director of nurses at St. Mary's. Her family donated memorabilia of Penny's nursing career to the Riley County Historical Museum in Manhattan, where they can be seen in an exhibit honoring health care workers. She was a member of the IW Chapter of PEO in Manhattan, and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Manhattan since 1937. Despite a shy and self-effacing personality, Penny had a profound strength and an intense interest in the world. Beginning in 1944, she kept a journal. The first entry is a poem by Walt Whitman named Memories: “How sweet the silent backward tracings! The wanderings as in dreams--the meditation of old times resumed--their loves, joys, persons, voyages.” Memories of Penny will comfort her family – the sweaters she knitted for her grandchildren, the chocolate chip cookies and cinnamon rolls she made for her family, her gentle attention to Homer, to her children and to her grandchildren, the beautiful bearded iris she planted everywhere she lived, her joy when describing with close observation the trips she and Homer took, and the books she avidly read throughout her life. Memories of her life will continue to be an inspiration to her children and grandchildren, and they are so much better for having been blessed by her presence. The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. Penny was cremated, and her ashes will be interred at Sunset Cemetery in Manhattan, next to Homer. Leona's life began on October 12, 1924 in Lost Springs.  She was the daughter of Henry and Pauline (Deines) Albright.  Leona was a 1942 graduate of Herington High School.  She worked as a switchboard operator as a young lady and later went to work in the IGA Grocery for many years.  Leona was a dedicated and hard-working mother for her children Jeanne and Jim.  Leona was a parishioner at Holy Family Parish- St. Marks in Marion and had been active in the St. Mark's Quilters.

  Her loving family includes her children Jeanne (Lyle) Gillett of Marion, and James (Nanette) Manhart of Weaverville, NC; grandchildren Kirk Gillett of Springdale, AR, Kyle (Andi) Gillett of Winfield and Kristy (Jeremy) Mohn of Olathe; great grandchildren Avery and Rylan Mohn; and siblings Gallard ( Regina) Albright of Wichita, Glenn (Waleah) Albright of Wichita, Edith Warneke of Marion, and Mary Lee Peckenschneider of Wichita.  Leona passed away on August 18, 2020 in Hillsboro.  She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings Harold Albright, Edward Albright, and Edgar Albright.

Imogene Merriott, 94, of Wamego, KS passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the Valley Vista Good Samaritan Society in Wamego.

On November 19, 1925, Imogene, was born to Linney and Jessie (Parkman) Hastey in Rochester, TX.&nbsp; She graduated in high school in Bula, TX in 1944.&nbsp; Imogene spent most of her working life as a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking, painting, donating her time at church, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She was united in marriage with Lawrence Evins.&nbsp; He preceded her in death in 1969.&nbsp; She was then united in marriage to Earnest Merriott.&nbsp; He preceded her in death in 1999.

Imogene is survived by her three children, Glen Evins (Linda), Wamego, KS, Billie Mowrer (Steve), Mansfield, TX, and Jerry Evins (Theresa), Emporia, KS; eight grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her three siblings, Doyle Hastey (Jean), Dorris Vick (J.D.), and Kenneth Hastey (Glenda).

Michael Herrmann, 48, of Omaha, NE and formerly of Wamego, passed away Monday, August17, 2020 in Wamego.

He was born December 30, 1971 to Larry Lee and Thelda Ireta (Bassett) Hermann. As a child, he moved to Nebraska, where he attended and graduated from Ralston, Nebraska schools. Michael worked his entire career in restaurant management.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and a brother Tod Herrmann.

He is survived by his only surviving brother, Kevin Herrmann, of Meridian, Idaho.

Private graveside services are planned. Burial will take place in the family plot in Wamego City Cemetery. Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego is in charge of arrangements.

Anthony Lynn Hinch, 61, of Alma, KS, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Stormont-Vail Hospital of Topeka.

He was born June 27, 1959 in Rush Springs, OK, the son of Logan Lee and Robbie Nell (Briscoe) Hinch. Anthony attended Rush Springs schools, graduating from high school there. He worked for Ford Motor Company manufacturing seats for several years and then worked at a chemical plant in McPherson, KS as a machine operator for many years. He married Monica Rae Hamilton on October 18, 2008 in Wamego, KS. She survives of the home.

Anthony loved to spend time with his grandkids and family. He spent much of his time having fun working on cars with his son Josh. He was a big University of Oklahoma fan and didn’t miss an OU Sooners football game on television. Antony was also active in his church, serving as a door greater for many years at Crestview Christian Church in Manhattan.

His survivors include, his wife Monica of Alma, KS; three sons: Brad Hinch (Sarah), Apache, OK, Kyle Hinch (Stormie), Cache, OK, Josh Hinch (fiancé`- Maggie Schuetz) of Alma, KS; one daughter, Becky Furman (Luke), Council Grove, KS; one step-son, Jerry Howe, Council Grove, KS; two brothers, Alan Hinch, Houston, TX, Logan Hinch of Tuttle, OK; and his grandchildren: Presley, Faith, Grace, Vintage, Logan, Killian, Dax, and Bentley. Both of his parents preceded him in death.

Doris Elaine Mueller, 75, of Manhattan KS, formerly of Tampa KS, died at her home on August 17, 2020. She was born August 1, 1945, in Preston KS, she is preceded in death by her parents, William and Guilda (Zongker) Stry of Tampa, KS. High school sweethearts from Tampa High School, Elaine married Robert Keith Mueller on August 13, 1967. After their wedding and college graduations they moved to Effingham, KS. While they met some great friends there, the draw to come back home to Tampa was strong and they moved into what become home for most of their lives, the farm outside of Tampa. The farm was where Elaine's childhood dream became a reality...raising and showing horses with her family. Horse showing is what the Mueller family would be known nationwide for, the four of them traveled the country. The lifelong memories created from horses were all Elaine ever wanted. Even in her last days, she was heard talking in her sleep saying "whoa Fred, whoa", finally getting her wish of riding her latest dream horse. Elaine was a bus driver, for Effingham and Centre school districts for 40 years. This allowed her to attend almost every sporting event, field trip, or school activity of her children. After retirement, she volunteered at the Riley County Police Dept in Manhattan so she could work alongside her daughter. Survivors include her husband, Robert Keith Mueller of Manhattan KS; sister, Ethel Fern Kellogg of Wichita, KS; two children, Russell Keith Mueller (Lara) of Mulhall, OK and Roxanne Marie Peterson (Adam) of Manhattan, KS; also her three grandchildren: Trace Phillips and Brooklyn Mueller of Muhall, OK, and Owen Peterson of Manhattan, KS. Doris Elaine Mueller, 75, of Manhattan KS, formerly of Tampa KS, died at her home on August 17, 2020. She was born August 1, 1945, in Preston KS, she is preceded in death by her parents, William and Guilda (Zongker) Stry of Tampa, KS. High school sweethearts from Tampa High School, Elaine married Robert Keith Mueller on August 13, 1967. After their wedding and college graduations they moved to Effingham, KS. While they met some great friends there, the draw to come back home to Tampa was strong and they moved into what become home for most of their lives, the farm outside of Tampa. The farm was where Elaine's childhood dream became a reality...raising and showing horses with her family. Horse showing is what the Mueller family would be known nationwide for, the four of them traveled the country. The lifelong memories created from horses were all Elaine ever wanted. Even in her last days, she was heard talking in her sleep saying "whoa Fred, whoa", finally getting her wish of riding her latest dream horse. Elaine was a bus driver, for Effingham and Centre school districts for 40 years. This allowed her to attend almost every sporting event, field trip, or school activity of her children. After retirement, she volunteered at the Riley County Police Dept in Manhattan so she could work alongside her daughter. Survivors include her husband, Robert Keith Mueller of Manhattan KS; sister, Ethel Fern Kellogg of Wichita, KS; two children, Russell Keith Mueller (Lara) of Mulhall, OK and Roxanne Marie Peterson (Adam) of Manhattan, KS; also her three grandchildren: Trace Phillips and Brooklyn Mueller of Muhall, OK, and Owen Peterson of Manhattan, KS. A memorial service for friends will be held at Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan at 4:00 p.m. on Friday August 21, 2020. Family services and burial are held at St John’s Lutheran Church in Tampa, Kansas at 11:00 a.m. Saturday August 22, 2020. Vera Mae Gehring was born on September 11, 1931, to Dan and Pearl Gehring, on a small farm near Moundridge. She was the oldest of six children. (Five girls and one boy.) Even though her parents were hard working, they were considered to be poor. They lived in a small farm house with two bedrooms, no electricity, no running water and no indoor toilet. The five girls shared two regular sized beds.Vera recalled that they always had a large garden and canned 1,000 jars of fruit, vegetables and meat since they had no refrigeration. Her and her sisters always wore dresses made out of pretty feed bags to school and church. Her mom was a very good seamstress. Vera didn’t have a pair of jeans until her senior year in high school. Of the six children, Mary, the youngest, was the only one born in a hospital. Shortly after being born, the family moved to a farm near Whitewater where her and her siblings attended the Claypool one room country school with grades 1-8. She didn’t know how to speak English when she started school. Vera attended and graduated from Whitewater High School in 1949. Vera wanted to be a nurse or a teacher after high school, but marriage changed her direction.

She met Melvin Tilson at a friend’s wedding. She was a bridesmaid and he was the best man. After a short courtship they were married at Emmaus Church on September 22, 1949. They moved to Arkansas City and lived there for five years. Vera’s first job was working in a meat packing plant in Arkansas City. She always told us that if we ever saw how they made hot dogs we would never eat another one. While living in Arkansas City Vera and Melvin began their family with the birth of Terry in 1951, Judy in 1952 and Jerry in 1953. Vera and Melvin spent most of their married life in Whitewater where they owned and operated a small restaurant called the M &amp; V Café. After a number of years serving as a cook and waitress, Vera took a job as a school secretary in the Remington school district. She was at the grade school and then moved to the high school when Jerry started high school. She told Jerry she made the move to “keep an eye on him.” She said that of all the jobs she had, working at Remington was her favorite job. Following her time at Remington, Vera applied for the postal service and eventually became the Postmaster of Elbing until she retired in 1998.

Even though Vera was busy helping Melvin, she always found time to support the kids and grandkids in their involvement in various activities, she was also very supportive and helpful to the extended family through the years.

Melvin died after 43 years of marriage in 1992 and Vera married Jack Sprague in 1997 and they were married for 15 years before he died in 2012. Those who preceded her in death are her parents, Dan and Pearl Gehring; her husband, Melvin Tilson; her sister, Helen Rose; her husband, Jack Sprague and all of her brothers-in-law.

Vera is survived by her sister, Betty Breising of Wichita; brother Bill and Annetta Gehring of Newton; sister, Neva Arnold of Exeter, Missouri and sister, Mary Potter of Whitewater; her three children son, Terry and Connie Tilson of Newton, daughter, Judy and Tony Frieze of Chapman and son, Jerry and Glenda Tilson of Newton; twelve grandchildren; twenty-four great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.

Private family services will be held. She will be interred next to Melvin in Swiss Cemetery.&nbsp;

Richard was a longtime resident of Leavenworth, Kansas and moved to Wamego, Kansas in 2009 with Wilma to be closer to their children. While in Wamego, He was active in the American Legion. Richard was a WW II Veteran. He served on the USS Tennessee and was a Purple Heart recipient. While in Leavenworth, he worked for the Civil Service at Fort Leavenworth and was an active member of the Lion’s Club and the First United Methodist Church. Helen Elizabeth Janes was born on March 10th, 1930 in Manhattan, Kansas. She died peacefully August 16th , 2020 at Meadowlark Hills. She was preceded in death by her parents, William C. and Mary P. Janes, and her brother Donald R. Janes. Among survivors are two nephews and two nieces; Brian Janes (Gay Kahler), Emily Janes, Matthew Janes (Thu) and Alison Kahler (Mark). Helen graduated from Manhattan High School in 1948. She attended Mac Murray College for Women. For two years she majored in art and art education at Kansas State University, receiving her bachelor’s degree in 1952. Helen liked school and over the years attended the University of Iowa receiving the MA degree and Doctorate in art education and history at Indiana University. Helen began her teaching career in art at McPherson High School. Helen was the helping teacher in art in the public schools of Kansas City, Kansas for 10 years. In 1954 under the direction of the superintendent of Kansas City Kansas schools she along with the other supervisors and principals integrated the public schools. Helen taught art education and art history at Wisconsin University in Oshkosh Wisconsin and Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro, Tennessee for a number of years. Upon Helen’s return to Manhattan in 1981 she worked as the floral designer at the Ben Franklin Craft Store in Westloop. Helen trained as an Adult Care Home Administrator; she supervised the education program and workshop for young mentally ill adults. Helen later worked as the Adult Care Home Administrator for older adults in Russell, Kansas. During the summer vacations Helen toured Europe, Mexico, Galapagos’ Islands and the Western Countries of South America. Helen was a life member of the American Association of University Women and past Matron of the Order of Eastern Star. Helen served as a Stephen Minister at the First United Methodist Church in Manhattan. After selling the family home she moved to Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community in January 2009. Helen enjoyed participating in the seminars and programs offered there. Over the years Helen deeply appreciated the relationships she built with the residents and staff and members of the community. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the KSU Foundation for the Beach Museum of Art, the First United Methodist Church Stephen Ministries or to the Meadowlark Hills Good Samaritan Fund in care of the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home 1616 Poyntz Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502. Dennis Bruno Herdzina, 73, of Junction City, KS, passed away on August 12, 2020. Johnson Funeral Home of Junction City is assisting the family with cremation arrangements. Dennis was born on October 1, 1946, in Chicago, Illinois. After graduating high school, he entered into service with the United States Army and served proudly for many years. He married Elsie Gaye Tygrett, and he and his small family lived in many places domestic and abroad. He was awarded many honors and decorations including but not limited to: the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal w/ Bronze Star, Army Lapel Button, Army Achievement Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (2nd Oak Leaf Cluster), NCO Professional Development Ribbon "3", Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), Overseas Service Ribbon "3", Mechanics Badge, Expert (Pistol 9mm), Southwest Asia Service Medal W/3 Bronze Stars, Kuwait Lineration Medal, Drill Sgt I.D. Badge, Sharpshooter (Rifle M-16A1), Expert (Hand Grenade). After his honorable service, he called Junction City, Kansas, his home. Dennis was an outdoorsman and family man. He will be missed. For the past thirteen years she has lived with her daughter Deanna in Grandview Plaza. She married Ronald S. Thompson. He passed away in 1987. Survivors include four daughters, Deanna Slaton of Grandview Plaza, KS, Carol Dahlene Barker and her husband George of Milford, KS and Heidi Main and her husband Michael of TN and Tina Wery; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

 She was born June 17, 1970 in Herington, Kansas, the daughter of Ray and Imogene (Head) Hutcherson. She grew up in Abilene and attended Abilene High School, graduating in 1988. On May 31, 2003 she was united in marriage to David Donmyer at God’s Garden south of Solomon. She was a Para Professional at Chapman High School from 2017 to present and also for 14 years at Abilene High School from 2000-2012.

Jennifer is survived by her loving husband David of the home. One daughter Cheyanne Hutcherson of Chapman. One grandson, Easton Tyler along with a grandson on the way. Her mother, Imogene Hutcherson of Abilene. Brothers, Paul and wife Penny Wyss and Tim and wife Trish Wyss. Sisters, Joyce and husband Carl Hines and Jan and husband Gary Hines, along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father Ray, and one brother, Larry Wyss.

Jennifer Hutcherson Donmyer

Lida's life began on November 28, 1925, the daughter of George W. and Nettie M. (Puckett) Thomas in Whitewater, Kansas. She graduated from Potwin High School Class of 1942 and also Butler County Junior College. She married Ralph Henry "Jack" Wallace on May 26, 1945 in Potwin, Kansas.

Lida taught school and substitute taught in the Potwin area. Later she was a bank teller at the Potwin State Bank for 30 years, moving up the ladder to Vice President. She also worked at The Bank of Whitewater for four years. She was a member of the Potwin Christian Church where she taught Sunday school, was a Sunday school superintendent and a deaconess. She enjoyed reading, embroidery, and word search.

Her loving family includes her son and his wife, Thomas and Linda Wallace of Potwin; daughters and their husbands, Marilyn and Mike Slaymaker of Whitewater, Joyce and Tom Day of Lawrence; sisters, Bonnie Sommers of Augusta, Doris Hazen of Arkansas City, and Betty Whiteside of Potwin; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

Her friends are welcome to view Lida on Monday, August 17, from 4-8 p.m. at Lamb Funeral Home (masks are required). There will be a private family service due to the state limitations regarding Covid-19. She will be interred with her husband in McGill Cemetery in Potwin.

Lida's life began on November 28, 1925, the daughter of George W. and Nettie M. (Puckett) Thomas in Whitewater, Kansas. She graduated from Potwin High School Class of 1942 and also Butler County Junior College. She married Ralph Henry "Jack" Wallace on May 26, 1945 in Potwin, Kansas.Lida taught school and substitute taught in the Potwin area. Later she was a bank teller at the Potwin State Bank for 30 years, moving up the ladder to Vice President. She also worked at The Bank of Whitewater for four years. She was a member of the Potwin Christian Church where she taught Sunday school, was a Sunday school superintendent and a deaconess. John’s life began November 3, 1957, the son of Eldred and Flora (Hoerner) Zeiner and step father Richard Martin. He went to school in Lost Springs, KS.

John was the owner of L &amp; J Tire in Herington, KS since 2007. Previously he worked at the rock quarry where he met his wife Linda Jane. They were married on September 18, 2004 in a beautiful outdoor wedding at Herington Lake. John loved to hunt, fish and restore old vehicles. But his true passion was helping others. He was involved in the U.S. Honor Flight and the Herington Hearts Core Community.

His loving family includes his wife, Linda Jane of Lost Springs, KS; 3 children, Colleen (Chris) Garr of Cottonwood Falls, KS; Derek (Tonya) Summers of Herington, KS; Jeff Summers of Lost Springs KS; 5 Grandchildren, Linda, Christopher, Christina and Johnathon Garr and Austin Summers; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Remington and Donald Bennett; sisters, Linda (Tim) Douglas of Abilene, KS; Flora (Dale) English of Paducah, KY; Vera Davis of Junction City, KS; Betty Wheeler of Herington, KS; &nbsp;brothers, David (Mary) Zeiner of Herington KS; and Tommy Zeiner.

John R. Zeiner - November 3, 1957-August 12, 2020 (age 62)

Ralph Melvin Suther, 90, of Blaine, Kansas, died Thursday, August 13, 2020, at the Via Christi Village in Manhattan. &nbsp;He was a long-time member of the community.

Ralph was born on January 3, 1930, in Axtell, Kansas, the son of Fred and Freda Tegeler Suther. &nbsp;He attended local schools and graduated from Blaine Rural High School in 1948. &nbsp;Ralph entered the U.S. Army in 1951, serving as a sergeant in the Korean War.

A farmer and rancher his entire adult life, Ralph also worked five years for the Pottawatomie County FSA when first returning from the Service. He started R&amp;R Suther Farms north of Westmoreland and was a DeKalb Seeds dealer for sixty years.

Ralph was very active in the community, serving twenty years on the Westmoreland and Rock Creek School Boards and two terms on the Pottawatomie County Extension Council. He served on the boards of Kansas Pork Producers and Westmoreland Low Income Housing, as well as nine years on the Board of the Beattie Farmers Union Cooperative Assn. He was a member of the Kansas Livestock Association, American Legion Post 181, and since 1948, a member of the Knights of Columbus. &nbsp;Ralph was a member of St. Columbkille’s Catholic Church in Blaine, serving on its church council. &nbsp;Then becoming a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Manhattan, he served as lector for many years. He was a devoted blood donor all his adult life until age would not permit. Ralph enjoyed traveling and had visited most states as well as ten other countries.

He married Kathleen Helen Retter on October 13, 1951 in Blaine. &nbsp;She preceded him in death on October 28, 2013. &nbsp;Ralph then married Karen Peters Hartner on November 28, 2014, in Manhattan. &nbsp;She survives at their home.

Ralph is also survived by his daughters; Susie Kufahl (Jay), Wheaton, and Betsy Prockish (Wayne), Topeka; his sons, Ron Suther (Micki), Westmoreland; Steve Suther (Anne), Onaga; and Dan Suther (Gina), Westmoreland; his step-daughters, Hilary Wahlen, Manhattan, and &nbsp;Kayleen Classen (Donald “Bo”), Manhattan; his step-son, Keith Hartner, Manhattan; his sixteen grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and twenty-three great-grandchildren; Tracy Murphy (Anthony) and children, Logan and Grant, Audrea Martens (Eric) and children, Jarritt and Bailey, Matt Suther (Kim) and children Evelyn and Cordell, Greg Suther (Elise) and step-sons, Nick and Jake; Grace Suther and daughter, Nicole; Shea Tarrant (David) and children, Rory and Rhys, Frankie Kietzman (Dane) and daughter, Ezri; Tom Suther, Aileen Taylor (Ryan) and daughter, Lena; Holly Thomas (Josh) and daughter, Jillian; Maggie Butler (Matthew) and daughter, Gabrielle; step-grandson Dustin (Jen) Prockish and daughter, Hannah; Abbey (Bryan) Hefti and sons, Freddy and Ralph; Weston Prockish, Skyler Suther (Anna) and children, Lincoln, Logan and Landon; Colter Suther (Kayla) and daughters, Rylea and Reese; and Walker Suther; Ralph’s brothers, Jerry (Sharol) Suther, Panora, Iowa, and Joe Suther (Ginger), Williamsburg; his sisters, Vera Strunk, Wamego; Sister Betty Suther, Concordia; Sister Eleanor Suther, Atchison; and Mary Gerstner (Al), Topeka.
