Elvira June Rigel, age 93, passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at Meadowlark Hills-Riley House.

She was born April 9, 1927 in Green, Kansas, the daughter of John Edward and Altha May (Osbourn) Yeager.  Elvira graduated from Green Rural High School in 1943.  She taught school until she married.

On May 2, 1946, she married Milo Rigel.  He preceded her in death on March 7, 2012.  They farmed in the Pleasant Hill area near Green.  Elvira retired after more than 30 years of civil service at Fort Riley where she received several accommodations for her service.

Elvira was a life member of the Green VFW Auxiliary and the Green Methodist Church.  She enjoyed music and working in her garden.

She is survived by two daughters, Janet (Ritch) Burwell of Riley and Donna Francis (Sid) of Belleville; three sisters, Lois Tobyne, Lola Dugan and Bertha (Arnold) Morgison; three grandchildren, Angela Carrara, Michelle Ashburn and Amy Graves; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother, Clara Yeager; twin infant siblings and two brothers-in-law.

A private family graveside service at the Fancy Creek Cemetery in Green will be held a later date.  

Memorials may be made to the Meadowlark Hills-Riley House and left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.

Nancy “Nan” F. Thompson, Bennington, Kansas passed away Wednesday August 12, 2020. 

She was born in Butler County, PA on December 24, 1935, the daughter of the late Lewis Baynard and Mary Kathryn (Crouch) Heller. Nan was united in marriage to the love of her life and soul mate, Allyn L Thompson on March 11, 1955. They both were actively enlisted in the Air Force stationed at Keecler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS when they met. Nan held several different jobs over her 84 years. Her longest stint of 18 years was for Beech Aircraft/Raytheon. Her greatest love of jobs was helping the elderly stay at home and caring for them. She was a true caregiver at heart.

She is survived by her three children: Wyatt (Karen) Thompson, Manhattan, Kansas; Kay (Nick) Burns, Hutchinson, Kansas; and Lisha (Greg) Wolf, Bennington, Kansas. Nan was one of twelve children of which six have preceded in death, Robert, Dorothy, Donald, William, Richard and Charlotte. Surviving her are Helen, Althea, Paul, Alma and Janie. Grandchildren include Dacy (Wade) Woods, Dustin (Michelle) Thompson, Stoney (Jamie) Burns, Ryan (Kate) Burns, Alexandra Winingham, Trevor Wolf, Lyndi (Jeremy) Bernard, Courtney (Griff) Burdett and Whitney (Blaise) Kaufman.

John W. Keller, age 75, of Manhattan, passed away August 12, 2020, at his residence. He was born May 31, 1945, in Brookfield, Missouri, the son of Clarence B. and Julia Ann (Williams) Keller. John earned his Bachelors degree from St. Benedictine College, a Masters degree from Kansas State University and Rutgers University, and a PhD from Rutgers University. Dr. Keller, FAICP, served as professor of Regional and Community Planning in the Department of Architecture Planning &amp; Design for 46 years at Kansas State University. His expertise was small town and rural planning. He was a contributor to both professional and academic literature in planning, rural development, and local economic development. He frequently presented his research at national and international conferences. He co-authored several books in the field of rural planning and development. In addition to teaching and academic research, John served as a practitioner and consultant in small town planning and economic development for rural communities in Kansas. Throughout his career, he advised and mentored countless students and young professional planners. John served as Faculty Senate president at Kansas State University, was a member of the International Planning Association, and was inducted as a Fellow and member of the College of the American Institute of Certified Planners. A seeker of knowledge and lifelong avid reader, John relished his time exchanging and discussing books with his colleagues and friends. He was a long time member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church and served as a greeter/usher. On February 15, 1969, in Brookfield, Missouri, he was married to Kathryn Ann Biegel. Mrs. Keller survives of the home. Additional survivors include his two children: Sean Keller and his wife Anne of Indianapolis, IN, and Mary (Keller) Frank and her husband Mike of Wichita, KS, one brother David Keller and his wife Susan of Columbia, MO, and seven grandchildren: Madeline, Claudia, Meaghan (Sean’s children), and Maria, Michael, Mitchell, Marianna (Mary’s children). John was very proud of his family, and lived for the times he could spend with his wife, children and grandchildren. He cherished family gatherings, especially the annual family trip to Colorado. He will live on in our hearts forever. Patricia Lapham, a life-long resident of Kansas died peacefully on August 12, 2020 at the Kansas Masonic Home in Wichita.

Patricia is survived by her son, Stephen Brockelman of Baltimore, Maryland and daughter, Sandra Adams of Winter Garden, Florida, grandson, John Adams, and three great-daughters, Adalynne, Kalista, and Olivia. &nbsp;She is predeceased by husbands, Frank Brockelman, Jr., Donald Rees, LeRoy Lapham, and stepchildren, Don Rees, Jr. and Dianne (née Rees) Loddy.

Patricia was born in Morris County, Kansas on April 5, 1929 to Freda (née Lowe) and John George Riely. She attended Lull Meadows “Little Red School House,” and graduated from Council Grove High School. She was a loving mother and homemaker who enjoyed traveling. Patricia also was an avid reader.

A lifetime member of First Congregational Church UCC, she was involved in many church activities and will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.

Benjamin “Ben” Gonzalez Partida, aged only 15, passed away on Friday, August 7, 2020 in Junction City, Kansas. He was born on July 22, 2005 in Gelnhausen, Germany, to his beloved parents Sergio and Jessica Partida. He was beginning his sophomore year at Junction City High School where he was a member of the track and soccer team. A sweet and quiet young man, Ben was known by his family and friends to be quick-witted, sarcastic, funny, kind, and most of all, caring. Ben was an extremely intelligent, straight A student that teachers loved having in their classroom. He was an avid gamer- staying up all hours of the night to play video games and talk with friends that lived all over the U.S. in different time zones. Ben loved crazy hats, chopping wood, playing soccer, camping, and cooking gadgets- especially his hot dog roller. He could have lived off eating nothing but candy and drinking nothing but soda had he been left to his own devices. He also loved Ramen Noodles, MREs, ranch dressing (but not that weird avocado or cucumber ranch stuff), good food that someone else cooked (as long as it wasn’t vegetarian), and fast food that someone else bought and hand-delivered to him. He loved to walk around with bare feet and hated to comb his hair. To have known Ben is to have loved him. He will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him. Ben is survived by his parents Sergio and Jessica Partida of Junction City, KS; his brother, Moses Partida of Junction City, KS; his paternal grandparents, Aroldo and Yolanda Partida of Susanville, CA; his maternal grandparents, Dan and Madeline Leslie of Many, LA. Elaine Ann Heller, age 71 of Riley, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House.

She was born on May 4, 1949 in Clay Center, the daughter of Martin F. and Evelyn Arlene (Johnson) Davies. Growing up on a farm near Bala, where she attended Bala school until going to Leonardville her 8th grade year. Elaine graduated from Riley County High School in 1967. From 1961-1967 her summers were spent playing softball with the Broughton girls (Clay Center B's) helping the team win four state championships. She graduated from MATC in 1969 as part of the first computer programming class.
&nbsp;
On November 7, 1970 at the Bala Presbyterian Church, she married Eldo Bernard Heller.&nbsp; He survives of the home.&nbsp; 

Elaine began her career as a computer operator at Kansas State University in 1969. She took a handful of years off to have children. She finished her K-State career working with the registrar's office in 2010. She was a member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church, where through the years she served as an Elder, Clerk of Session, was part of Ladies PW and was a Sunday School teacher. In addition to her husband, Eldo, she is survived by three daughters, Kim Schurle (Patrick) of Green, Lori Strauss (Josh) of Junction City and Lisa Heller of Manhattan; five grandchildren, Alexis Schurle, Lane Schurle, William Strauss, April Strauss and Arthur Strauss; one sister, Kaye Klucas of Leonardville; two brothers, Wayne Davies of Leonardville and Donald Davies of Clay Center, one brother-in-law Roger Heller (BJ) of Colorado, many nieces and nephews, along with other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother-in-law, Fred Klucas.

Elaine Ann Heller, age 71 of Riley, passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House.She was born on May 4, 1949 in Clay Center, the daughter of Martin F. and Evelyn Arlene (Johnson) Davies. Growing up on a farm near Bala, where she attended Bala school until going to Leonardville her 8th grade year. Elaine graduated from Riley County High School in 1967. From 1961-1967 her summers were spent playing softball with the Broughton girls (Clay Center B's) helping the team win four state championships. She graduated from MATC in 1969 as part of the first computer programming class.

On November 7, 1970 at the Bala Presbyterian Church, she married Eldo Bernard Heller.&nbsp; He survives of the home.&nbsp; Elaine began her career as a computer operator at Kansas State University in 1969. She took a handful of years off to have children. She finished her K-State career working with the registrar's office in 2010. She was a member of the Fairview Presbyterian Church, where through the years she served as an Elder, Clerk of Session, was part of Ladies PW and was a Sunday School teacher. Beatrice L. “Bea” Cole, age 86, of Abilene passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Village Manor in Abilene. She was born August 23, 1933 in Galeton, PA the daughter of Charles and Filide (Meucci) Osani. She graduated High School in Galeton and on June 25, 1955 she was united in marriage to Lewis W. Cole. To this union two sons were born. Lewis worked for Combustion Engineering and the family made their home in Galeton, PA Marion, NC, and Concordia, KS before moving to Abilene in 1973. Bea was a homemaker and was a member of the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. She also volunteered for the Red Cross blood mobile, taking friends to appointments, socializing with her friends at coffee and working at Memorial Hospital. Bea is survived by her son Jeff and his wife Toye of Solomon, brother Joe and his wife Coleen Osani of Mason, Ohio, three grandchildren Brandon, Kasey, and Luke, two great grandchildren Emma and Hunter, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Lewis on January 1, 1996, her son Geno in 1977, siblings Rita, Geno, Herman, Nella, Charles, Ted, and her parents. Cremation is planned. During his time in service, he was stationed in many places domestic and abroad and earned many awards and decoration. They include but are not limited to: National Defense Service Medal, Army Achievement Medal W/4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Good Conduct Medal (6th Award), Driver &amp; Mechanic Badge, Army Commendation Medal W/1 Oak Leaf Cluster, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (3), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas service Ribbon (2), Marksman (M-16 Rifle), and Marksman (.38 Cal Pistol). Upon his retirement at Fort Riley, Kansas, he made Milford, Kansas, his home. Dale had many interests. He was a member of the American Legion Post 101 in Clay Center, Kansas, an animal lover, an avid golfer, a fisherman, and an excellent card player. Above all he was a family man. He loved spending time with family and friends especially kids and grandkids . He was a loving husband, caring father, adoring grandfather and great-grandfather, and a loyal friend. Faye Janet Teetzen, 83, of Manhattan,Kansas- formerly of Lyona community in rural Dickinson County KS&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; died on August 6, 2020 at Ascension Via Cristi Hospital in Manhattan, KS.&nbsp; She was born September 22, 1936 Chapman, KS.&nbsp; Her parents were Phillip and Dorothy (Oesterrich) Gugler.

Faye attended Carry Creek Grade School and graduated from Dickinson County Community High School in 1954.&nbsp; She then attended Kansas State University majoring in Art before moving to Kansas City where she was employed by Hallmark Cards as an artist.

Faye returned to the Rural Chapman area and on September 1, 1956, was joined in marriage to Walter Eugene (Gene) Teetzen of Tampa, KS.&nbsp; To this union were born 3 children, Deborah, Lisa &amp; Douglas.&nbsp; They made their home in Herington, KS until 1964, when they moved to their farm in the Lyona Community.&nbsp; Faye lived on the farm from 1964 until 2019 when she moved to Meadowlark Hills in Manhattan, KS.&nbsp;

Faye was a farm wife, mother and in 1972 established Cottonwood Farms, a professional dog breeding and raising kennel - and was owner/operator until retiring in 2017.

Preservation of community and its history was especially important to her – she served her community through being a 4-H Community Leader, was a driving force behind the Land Preservation committee, and served on the Rinehart Township Election Board.&nbsp; She was on the committee that took on the monumental task of producing a community history book for the Lyona United Methodist Church 125th&nbsp;Anniversary.

Faye loved animals, nature and its surroundings, and enjoyed landscaping – she became a Master Gardener through K-State’s Extension Program.

Faye had a wide variety of interests – she enjoyed Reading, Painting, Needlework, Quilling, Dried floral arrangements, just to name a few.&nbsp; She had an artistic eye for photography and enjoyed taking photos of nature and sharing her knowledge and skills with others.&nbsp; She was a long time Fair Superintendent for the Central Kansas Free Fair Photography division and started the Traveling 20 (now known as Top 20) Photo award.

Survivors include her daughters, Deborah (Royce) Swank of Ottawa KS, Lisa Eickholt (the late Bill Eickholt) of Junction City KS, and son Douglas (Jennifer) Teetzen of Payette ID. Grandchildren Samantha (Loran) Lefert, and Great Grand-children Roper and Reatta of Abilene KS, Rachel Teetzen and Great-Grandson Timothy of Fruitland ID, and Tyler Teetzen of Payette ID.&nbsp;&nbsp;Other survivors include a sister Marjorie (Nolin) Masih of Paynesville MN, brother Clyde (D’Anne) Gugler of Chapman KS, sister-in-law Mildred Albrecht of Emporia KS and 10 nieces and nephews.&nbsp; She was preceded in death by her parents, nephew Greg Albrecht, son–in-law Bill, and Gene, her beloved husband of 47 years.

Sammy Lee Kellogg, age 89 of Olsburg, passed away Friday, August 7, 2020 at his residence.



He was born on April 21, 1931 in Washington, Kansas, the son of Charles and Mable (Sedlacek) Kellogg.

He was married to Jenny Lee Derr (of Aurora, Nebraska) for 50 years.  She preceded him in death in 2016.



Sammy was a carpenter and loved building things and helping people with their projects.  He attended the Agape Family Church and enjoyed meeting a group of guys in Olsburg to drink coffee and play cards daily.



He is survived by four children, Beverly Graves and husband Brad of Olsburg, Rene` Schmid and husband Lee of Spring Hill, Don Kellogg and wife Krista of Manhattan and Cyrena Kellogg of Gardner; three grandchildren, Victor Graves, Emma Kellogg and Jana Kellogg and one brother, Glen Kellogg of Greanleaf.

In addition to his wife, Jenny Kellogg, he was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Gene Kellogg, Elmer Kellogg, George Kellogg and John Kellogg.


Private family inurnment will be in the Olsburg Cemetery.

Shirley Ann (Esker) Aylward entered into eternal life on the morning of August 8, 2020 at the Ottawa County Health Center in Minneapolis, Kansas at the age of 90. Shirley was born to Bernard H and Dolly (Kelly) Esker on February 1, 1930 in Junction City, Kansas. At the age of 4 years old, her mother, Dolly, passed away. Shirley was then raised by her foster parents, A. Ross and Ione (Kelly) Shepard in Chapman, Kansas. Shirley attended both grade school and high school in Chapman, Kansas. In 1951, she graduated from St. John’s Hospital School of Nursing in Salina, Kansas. During her nursing training, she cared for a man who’s visiting son would become the love of her life, Robert M. (Bob) Aylward. On January 5, 1952 Shirley and Bob Aylward were married . Their union blessed them with four children; Thomas Michael, Katherine Marie, Robert Ross and James Patrick. Shirley and Bob raised their family on a farm near Solomon, Kansas. Shirley’s family was her heart. She was a dedicated housewife and mother. Shirley was a talented cook with her homemade bread being legendary among her family and friends. She used her talent to help children learn these skills in the Solomon 4-H Club and was the club’s food leader for several years. She enjoyed working alongside friends and family at the Niles Community Center and the Solomon Catholic Church, making herself available to serve others when needed. Faith was a constant source of joy and strength for Shirley. She prayed daily for her family and friends. She spent many days writing and sending cards of encouragement or celebration wishes to many people. Her kindness and love for others was genuine. Shirley also continued working part time in the nursing career she so loved, especially at the Abilene Nursing Home. She enjoyed staying connected with her graduating class of nurses and served as President of her Nursing Alumni. Shirley had a passion for playing cards. She loved to play with friends and family anytime someone was up for a game. The love of this hobby earned her the title “Queen of Hearts” and was the theme of her 80th birthday celebration in Solomon, Kansas. Shirley is preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert M Aylward, her parents, Bernard H and Dolly (Kelly) Esker, her stepmother, Velma Esker and her foster parents, A. Ross and Ione (Kelly) Shepard, a brother, Bob Esker and a sister, Ellen Bordelon. She is also preceded in death by two grand-daughters, Amber Marie Luthi and Samantha Adel Aylward. Wilmer was born on August 4, 1933 in Manhattan, the son of Charley and Elsie (Johnson) Allen. He attended Manhattan schools and graduated in 1951. He then attended Vo-Tech College. On August 4, 1955 he was united in marriage to Catherine Cravens. She preceded him in death on January 3, 2017. Wilmer worked in the maintenance department at Kansas State University for many years. He enjoyed being around people and visiting with them whenever he could. He enjoyed playing cards, horseshoes, and pool. Also, he liked to go the races and to go dancing. Wilmer always was ready to see his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He and Catherine loved attending as many of the grandchildren’s events as they could. He was a good listener for his kids and grandkids to come and talk and get advice from him over the years. He called square dances and also worked as an auctioneer. Wilmer was a member of the Westmoreland United Methodist Church, the Mason Lodge in Westmoreland, and the Manhattan and Westmoreland Saddle Club. He grew up in 4-H and always worked at the Riley County Fair and helped his kids enter the fair and work their 4-H projects over the years. In addition to his wife he was also preceded in death by his parents, brother Chester Allen, and one grandson, Lonney Baxter. Wilmer is survived by his children: Victoria “Vicky” Baxter and Gary of Manhattan, KS, Barbara Shepard and Clifford of Ogden, KS, and Lisa Allen of Westmoreland, KS. Buck Albert Lockwood, 61, of Wamego, Kansas died Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. &nbsp;He was a long time resident of Wamego.

Buck was born in Arcata, California on February 5, 1959 the youngest son of Newton Emmett and Betty Sue (Crandall) Lockwood.

In the early 1980’s Buck lived in Burlington, Kansas while working at the Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant. &nbsp;After Wolf Creek was finished he moved to Iowa to help build Duane Arnold Energy Center. &nbsp;After that was completed he and his family settled back in the Wamego area where he worked at Balderson/Caterpillar in the warehouse as a forklift operator for many years. &nbsp;He most recently worked at Florence Corporation until he retired due to health in 2015.

Buck was always a hard worker; he would work any shift and overtime hours that he was asked. &nbsp;He loved his family, and if he knew you, you were family. &nbsp;He had a genuine interest in what people were up to and was immensely proud of his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. &nbsp;He had a heart of gold, even when he didn’t have much for himself. &nbsp;He loved to play pool, mostly 8-ball, he was in several pool leagues and then when he discovered virtual pool he would play with anyone online. &nbsp;He loved to play his guitars 6 or 12 string. He was always happiest when he was able to jam with his family or friends. &nbsp;He loved southern rock and country music and he especially had a passion for Lynyrd Skynryd.&nbsp;

Buck married Dixie Stanfill on July 4, 1980; they were later divorced. &nbsp;He then married Denise Miller in 1983; they were later divorced. &nbsp;He then married Donna Smith in 1995; they were later divorced.

Buck is survived by his mother, Betty Lockwood, Del City, Oklahoma, his children, Jennifer (Derek) Woods, St. George, Kansas, Robert (Tiffany) Lockwood, Muskogee, Oklahoma, Traci Lockwood, Wamego, Kansas, Cheryle (Casey Shows) Lockwood, West Monroe, Louisiana, and Dionna Lankard, Manhattan, Kansas; his grandchildren Seanna (Jacob Barrett) Fisher, Tyler and Jostin Woods, Cecil, Keegan, Lathan Lockwood, Amelia Spillers, Christian Kronenburg, and Alayna Flescher; his siblings, Newton Lockwood, Ceres, California, Sue (David) Bruckner, Grove, Oklahoma, Ellen (Mike) Morgan, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Diana Lockwood, Del City, Oklahoma; his best friend, Mike Stuewe, Alma, Kansas and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. &nbsp;He was preceded in death by his father, Newton Lockwood, a stillborn son, Joshua Dean Lockwood and a sister-in-law Mary Jane Lockwood.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Esther Wiebe; son, Darren Wiebe in 2018; and a sister, Mariann Siebert. Lloyd passed away peaceful into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 7, 2020 at the age of 89 years old.

His family will gather with friends at Emmaus Church on Sunday, August 16, 6-8 p.m. for visitation. Interment will be a private family burial. His funeral service will be held on Monday, August 17, at 10:30 at the Emmaus Church in Whitewater.

Jeffrey Mason Osborne, 60, of Topeka, Kansas passed away August 5, 2020, at Rolling Hills Health Center in Topeka.

Jeff was born July 26, 1960 in Council Grove, Kansas, the son of William Mason III and Patricia (Hardiman) Osborne. He graduated from Topeka West High with the Class of 1978. Jeff was a member of Westside Christian Church.

Jeff was a savant and had an amazing ability to recall specific dates and facts about family and historical events. He was kind, caring and extremely intelligent. He was a dear friend and helper to many of his fellow residents at Rolling Hills. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Kansas City Royals, Chiefs and KU football and basketball. He loved playing pool. His passion was studying the weather and he always dreamt of being a meteorologist. Jeff’s family meant everything to him. He loved each of them dearly. Jeff will be greatly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: William and Mildred Osborne and Mark and Margaret Hardiman. Jeff is survived by his parents: Bill and Pat Osborne; sisters Jami Lynn Haines and husband Dennis Spradlin of Bentonville, AR and Julie Renae Pusloskie and husband Paul of Ashburn, VA; nephews: Michael Christopher Haines (Allison), Max Mason Pusloskie, Lex Paul Pusloskie; nieces: Candice Lynn Johnson (Taylor), Jade Ann Pusloskie, and Sasha Rose Pusloskie; and great nephew Curren Oliver Johnson.

Marjorie L. Davis of Junction City, KS, passed away August 3, 2020. She was born on April 1, 1924, in Junction City, Kansas to Morris and Rose (Meister) Gfeller. Marjorie attended grade school at Tell Country School and graduated at Junction City High School in 1941. She was married to Richard Gatza on May 24, 1944. Of that Union they had two sons, Daryl and Dale. Marjorie married Ralph Webb Davis June 10, 1962. She worked at Fort Riley Hospital from 1941 to 1944, then at the County Clerk Office for 35 years. She was County Clerk for 14 years when she retired in January of 1989. Marjorie loved to bowl for many years, was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Junction City, belonged to the Sertoma Club and Junction City Pilot Club, and loved to spend time at the family cabin at Council Grove City Lake. Her hobbies were cooking, sewing, and knitting. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Clint Gfeller, her sisters Maxine Gfeller-Adams, and Estelline Gfleller-Schlappi, late husband Richard and her two sons. She is survived by her husband Ralph Webb Davis of the home, daughter-in-law Theresa Gatza of Junction City, KS, daughter-in-law Kay Gatza of Junction City, KS, step-daughter Karen Davis-Flynn (Dennis) of Crossville, TN, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends. Mary “Jane” Glotzbach McCormic, 88, of Mission, Kansas passed away Monday, August 3, 2020 at her home in Mission.

&nbsp;She was born November 20, 1931 in Paxico, Kansas, the daughter of Richard and Clara A. (Stech) Glotzbach. Jane attended local schools in Paxico, and married Derrill Eugene McCormic on November 24, 1951 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Newbury, Kansas. After living in the Louisville area briefly, Jane and Derrill lived throughout the Midwest working until they moved the family to Mission, Kansas in 1962. Derrill preceded her in death in 2005. Jane worked mostly as an administrative assistant for the Tilden Corporation for 15 years before retiring.

Her survivors include a daughter, Caryl Hatcher and husband Ron, of Aurora, Colorado; a son, Steve McCormic, of Merriam, Kansas; one sister, Shirley Kietzman, of Olathe, Kansas; and two granddaughters, Shannon McCormic-Brooks and Julie McCormic. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Marvin Glotzbach; and three sisters, Maxine Lieber, Patricia Walsh, and Winifred Head.

Graveside services for Mrs. McCormic will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2020 in Wamego City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the donor’s choice, and may be left at Stewart Funeral Home of Wamego, PO Box 48, 66547.

Encille Kyle Lewis was born in Burr Oak, Kansas on February 12, 1927 to parents, Edna M. (Marshall) Lewis and Glen D. Lewis. He passed away on August 2, 2020 in Manhattan, Kansas at the age of 93. Encille spent his early years in Burr Oak, graduating from high school in 1945, before joining the US Army during the Korean War, 1950 - 1952. He was stationed in Germany, where he was a Corporal and performed Quartermaster duties. He married Marilyn J. (Myers) Lewis in May of 1958. In 1960 he began working at Burr Oak Plumbing &amp; Lumber; where he did plumbing, carpentry, farming infrastructure and many other related duties until 1980, when he moved to Manhattan, Kansas, where he worked for the USD #383 School District Maintenance Department until retirement in 2001. During his time in Burr Oak, he was a member of many civic organizations, including the American Legion, the Lions Club, City Council, the VFW as a life member and the local volunteer Fire department; where he served as Assistant Chief and Chief. Encille always had a special interest in scouting, being a member of the Boy Scouts of America as a youth and adult for nearly 80 years. Throughout the years, he held almost every position available to adult Scouters; from Scoutmaster all the way through District Commissioner, Training positions, Woodbadge staff and Regional (Council Level) Camp inspections teams. He also received many awards and citations, including the Silver Beaver (1985), OA Founders Award (2000) and more. In later years, Encille used his love, knowledge and vast woodworking experience to create many projects for his granddaughter and the "Crafty Seniors". He liked making birdhouses and birdfeeders and watching and feeding the birds and squirrels. He was preceded in death by his parents, Glen and Edna, his brother Max, his step-father Ulric Mohler, step-brothers Floyd, George and LeRoy Mohler. Survivors include his wife Marilyn and daughter Kylia of Manhattan; his son Glenn, Taylor Gass and granddaughter Avalee Jean of Kansas City, Missouri, many other relatives and a host of friends. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday August 22, 2020 at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home in Manhattan, with the Rev. Ben Duerfeldt officiating. Wilda was born August 24, 1926, in Minneapolis, KS the daughter of Dr. Carl McLain and Hilda Velma (Burkholder) Vermillion. Wilda graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 1944. After high school, she attended the University of Kansas. She later graduated from Kansas State University with her BA and MA. Wilda and her husband Joel owned and operated the Dixie Caramel Candy Store located on Washington Street in Junction City. She later had a Civil Service Career working at Fort Riley. Her hobby and interest was exploring genealogy and was an avid reader. She served on the Board at the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library for many years. She also was a knitter making many Christmas stockings for friends and family. Wilda also belonged to several bridge clubs. She married Joel R. Connell June 2, 1946 in Junction City, KS. He passed away November 15, 1989. Survivors include one son, Kevin Connell and his wife Karen of Junction City, KS; two daughters, Linda K. Kramer and her husband LeRoy of Junction City, KS and Rebecca (Becky) Bourland and husband Roger of Cordillera, CO; two grandchildren, Loren and Ashley; three great-grandchildren, Ma Kaila, Tegan and Simone She was preceded in death by her son William "Brad" Connell, husband Joel and sister Joan Crawford.&nbsp;&nbsp;
