Ezekiel Witt of Junction City captured the championship in the 106 pound weight class in the Class 6A State Wrestling Tournament on Saturday. He defeated Easton Broxterman of Washburn Rural in the title match by a fall.
In the 138 weight class Patrick Foxworth finished second. He fell in the championship match to Tate Rusher of Derby by a fall.
In other Saturday results for the Blue Jays Cooper Bogenhagen went 0-2, and lost in the fifth place match to Alan Chairez. As a 6th place finisher Bogenhagen medaled. Yoel Padilla of Junction City went 0-1, Zac Petrusky 1-1, Kayden Blake 0-1, Anthony Petrusky 0-1, Aimin Strickland 0-1, and Logan Nabus 2-1. Nabus finished in 6th place and earned a medal.
Junction City finished eighth in the team competition with 89.5 points. Washburn Rural captured the team title with 151 points.

Ezekiel Witt of Junction City has advanced to the championship finals in the 106 pound weight class at the Class 6A State Wrestling Tournament in Park City. Witt defeated Jacob Adams of Gardner Edgerton by a fall, Jayden Grijlva of Derby by a technical fall ( 17-1 ) and then Grayson Hagen in a 5-0 decision. He will wrestle in the championship finals Saturday against Easton Broxterman of Washburn Rural.
In the 138 pound weight class Patrick Foxworth defeated Austin Timmons by a fall and Noah Conover of Olathe Northwest by technical fall ( 17-1 ) before defeating Easton Taylor of Manhattan in an 11-10 decision. He will wrestle for the championship on Saturday against Tate Rusher of Derby.
In the 182 pound weight class Cooper Bogenhagen defeated Matt Castejon of Olathe North by a fall and Alan Chairez in a 6-1 decision to go to the semifinals on the winner's side but then lost to Austin Fager of Washburn by a fall.
Also for the Blue Jays, Yoel Padilla went 1-1, Zac Petrusky 1-1, Kayden Blake 1-1, Anthony Petrusky 1-1, Aimin Strickland 1-1, Logan Nabus 1-1 and Judah Peterson 0-2 as of early evening Friday.
Junction City is in seventh place with 73.5 points while Washburn Rural is in first place with 113 points after Friday competition.
