The 2025 summer season for the Junction City Brigade came to an end on Thursday after the Derby Twins knocked off the Brigade in single-elimination bracket play.
After multiple rounds of rain Wednesday night, the Junction City - Derby game was postponed to Thursday. The game picked back up in the top of the sixth inning, tied at 3-3.
The Brigade led 4-3 going into the ninth inning, but the Twins plated three runs in the top of the inning to lead 6-4. Junction City had two runners on, but left them stranded and finished the NBC World Series with a 2-2 record. Overall, on the season, the Brigade went 27-12 and finished second in the Jayhawk Collegiate League.
**This was the first season for Junction City in the Jayhawk Collegiate League, and their first appearance in the NBC World Series.
