JCHS Announces Basketball Schedule Changes

JUNCTION CITY, Kan. - Per a release from Junction City High School, the upcoming home basketball game versus Derby has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns within the Derby boys basketball team. 

As a result, Junction City will advance to the semifinal round of the Dodge City Tournament of Champions and take on the host Dodge City Red Demons on Thursday, January 21. That game will tip-off at 7 p.m. and air on 1420 AM and 107.9 FM KJCK. 

Junction City will then make a return trip to Dodge City on Saturday, January 23 for either the third place game (1 p.m.) or the championship game (3 p.m.), which will also air on KJCK. 

The JCHS boys game against Derby was set to be the first home contest to allow spectators this season. Now, that will be the girl's contest on Friday, January 22 when the Lady Jays host Shawnee Mission North. That game will start at 6:30 p.m., and for those unable to attend, there will be a live video stream provided by Junction City High School, as well as a radio broadcast on KJCK. Only home fans will be permitted and attendance will be limited to two (2) spectators per participant (i.e., parents, family).
