Junction City ( 0-1 ) did not get to finish the varsity baseball game at Dean Evans Stadium in Salina Friday night due to lightning. The contest with Salina Central ( 1-0 ) will have to be rescheduled.
Blue Jay Coach Carl Laughlin said Junction City was at bat in the top of the first inning. "Russell Wilkey got up to bat, had a five-pitch walk, led off the game, stole second. Trevor Laughlin went to bat, passed ball got Russell to third so we had a runner on third with nobody out, a 2-1 count on Trevor. Then a big lightning bolt hit right behind the stadium and that kind of called it. " Rain moved in about 20 minutes later.
In the junior varsity game Salina Central defeated Junction City 10-6.
