"Russell Wilkey got up to bat, had a five-pitch walk, led off the game, stole second. Trevor Laughlin went to bat, passed ball got Russell to third so we had a runner on third with nobody out, a 2-1 count on Trevor. Then a big lightning bolt hit right behind the stadium and that kind of called it. " Rain moved in about 20 minutes later. In the junior varsity game Salina Central defeated Junction City 10-6.
