The Junction City Lady Jay basketball team was defeated by Wichita Heights Tuesday night in the first round of substate bracket play. The Lady Jays lost by a final score of 59-10.

The Junction City girls finish the year with a record of 1-20. Their only win of the season was a one-point, 26-25 win over the Abilene Cowgirls in the Salina Invitational Tournament.

Junction City had two seniors on the roster, Amyah O'Neal and Sara Rexrode.

The Lady Jays were led in scoring this year by Rexrode, who averaged nearly six points per game and four rebounds per-game. As for O'Neal, she averaged four points per game.

Despite a very young team this year, Junction City should return several players that gained valuable experience for next season.
