The Junction City Blue Jays jumped out to a 16 point first halftime lead over Dodge City en route to a 73 to 42 victory over the Red Demons. Howard Johnson led the Blue Jays with 16 points, he had four 3-point baskets. Junction City out rebounded Dodge City 37 to 20. The Blue Jays shot 64.6% from the field, Dodge City just 31.9%. In the girls game, it was a different story. Dodge City opened with a 23 to 0 lead and cruised to a 69 to 21 win over the Lady Jays. The games at Dodge City were season openers for both teams. Junction City boys and girls will host Great Bend on Tuesday night at Shenk Gym.
