Junction City girls varsity wrestling team had eight qualify for the KSHSAA State Tournament. 

Freshman Catie Dee at 145 lb. placed 8th, senior Jordis Serrano 110 lb. placed 7th, Freshman, Shalina Hicks 190 lb. placed 6th, sophmores, Ka’Ori Herring 235 lb. and Elizabeth Edgerton-Diaz 130 lb. place 5th, Elaina Twitty, junior placed 3rd&nbsp;at 125 lbs.&nbsp;

 Regional champions were 115 lb. Bree Villanueva with a record of 29-1, and Jaidyn Alvarado at 100 lbs., record of 29-1 with 27 pins including all first-round pins through regionals.&nbsp; 

The state tournament is in Overland Park, starting on Feb. 28th.
