UPDATE: 6A girls State tennis tournament, both Lady Jay tennis players eliminated on day one

UPDATE: Both Junction City Lady Jay tennis players were eliminated on day one of the class 6A state girls tennis tournament.

Junior Julia Cho was defeated and eliminated in her first two matches of the day. 

Freshman Hannah Micheel lost her opening match and then worked her way through the back side of the bracket, but was defeated one round shy of advancing to Saturday 

Day two of the class 6A girls tennis tournament gets underway on Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Blue Jay tennis courts.

All matches are at the Blue Jay Tennis Courts behind the Junction City Middle School.

There are 72 players competing in the tournament, 24 single players and 24 doubles teams .

Junction City has two players competing in the singles division, junior Julia Cho and freshman Hannah Micheel. Both girls will compete in several matches on Friday in hopes of advancing to Saturday, which would result in a top 12 finish on the year.

The tournament runs all day on Friday, and continues with the top players advancing onto Saturday. There is no charge to attend the state tournament.
