Chapman Student wins state championship, sets records at 3A Powerlifting meet

Marcus Reed, a senior at Chapman High School set three records and captured a state championship this past Saturday at the class 3A State Powerlifting meet in Iola, Kansas.

Reed, competing in the 114 lb weight class, placed first in the bench press, clean, and squats. He set a new state record for his weight class with bench (205 lbs), squat (305 lbs) and overall weight of 715 lbs.

Reed was named the lightweight lifter of the meet.
