Over the weekend, Hannah Micheel represented the Junction City Lady Jay tennis team at the 6A state tennis tournament held at the CBAC in Olathe.
On Friday, Micheel started out her day with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Katie Rouse from Dodge City. She then competed against Lindsay Ruder from Olathe West, but lost 6-4, 6-3 to drop into the backside of the bracket.
Micheel then won her next two matches over Anja Meier from Haysville Campus 8-4 and Ilah Hull from Shawnee Mission East 8-2 to qualify for the Day 2 medal rounds.

On Saturday, Micheel started out losing her first match to Cami Lee from Lawrence Free State. She then bounced back to defeat Mia Huettenmueller from Olathe East 8-1 and then won vs Prisha Dalal, from Blue Valley North, 8-6 to earn the 9th place medal.
Overall, Micheel went 5-2 over the two day tournament, helping Junction City finish in 13th place with 6 points.
