TOPEKA, Kan. —The Junction City Blue Jays defeated the Topeka High Trojans with a final score of 34-0.&nbsp; The game was called at halftime due to severe weather in the area.

Junction City received the kickoff to open the game and promptly drove down the field to take a 7-0 lead just 2:33 into the game, and the Blue Jays never looked back.&nbsp;

Senior quarterback David Rowell threw for two touchdowns and rushed for one more in his first start as the JCHS signal caller.&nbsp;

Junction City's speed was the highlight of the contest, with running backs T.J. Jones, Randall Banks, Xavion Felton, and Tyree Holloway showcased their abilities in the season opener.&nbsp;

Junction City is now 1-0 on the season and will head to Manhattan for the Silver Trophy game on September 10th.&nbsp;
