TOPEKA, Kan. —The Junction City Blue Jays defeated the Topeka High Trojans with a final score of 34-0.  The game was called at halftime due to severe weather in the area.

Junction City received the kickoff to open the game and promptly drove down the field to take a 7-0 lead just 2:33 into the game, and the Blue Jays never looked back.

Senior quarterback David Rowell threw for two touchdowns and rushed for one more in his first start as the JCHS signal caller.

Junction City's speed was the highlight of the contest, with running backs T.J. Jones, Randall Banks, Xavion Felton, and Tyree Holloway showcased their abilities in the season opener.

Junction City is now 1-0 on the season and will head to Manhattan for the Silver Trophy game on September 10th.
