Blue Jays fall short against Olathe South, finish second in mid-season tournament

In their first ever trip to the the Spring Hill Invitational Basketball Tournament, the Junction City Blue Jays finish in second place. 

The Blue Jays were defeated by the Olathe South Falcons 64-55 in the championship game of the mid-season tournament. Junction City held a one-point lead at halftime, 29-28, but the Falcons hit some big shots in the second half to defeat the Blue Jays. 

Junction City was once again led in scoring by junior guard Jackson Austin, who finished with 18 points. Sophomore point guard Lovell Autry was the only other Blue Jay player to finish the game in double-digits, as Autry had 11 points. 

With the loss, the Blue Jays fall to 9-2 on the season. 

Three Junction City players were named to the Spring Hill Invitational All Tournament Team. These three players were Jackson Austin, Lovell Autry, and Ja'Twaan Williams. 

Girls results from Salina Invitational Tournament

The Lady Jays were defeated by number four seed Salina Central by a final score of 51-9. The Lady Jays will play Abilene on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. in the 7th place game.
