JUNCTION CITY, Kan. — The Junction City Brigade has announced its 2021 season schedule, including 19 home contests at Rathert Field and the Mid-Plains League All-Star Game.
The 2020 Mid-Plains League season was canceled due to the Coronavirus pandemic, but a full season is on the horizon with 36 scheduled contests in total.
Traditional league foes are back on the docket, with the Topeka Golden Giants, Sabetha Bravos, Baldwin City Blues, Kansas city Monarchs, and Midwest A's. As well as some new opponents such as the Lawrence Travelers, Hays Larks, and a scheduled game against The Barn Baseball Academy.
Fans will have the opportunity to meet the 2021 Brigade on Wednesday, June 2nd during the annual meet and greet at Rathert Field, followed by the home-opener on Friday, June 4th at 7p.m..
The 2021 Mid-Plains League All-Star Game will be held on Saturday, July 17th, with the game starting at 7p.m.; however, All-Star festivities will make it an all day affair, including a home run derby, a post game fireworks show, and other special events.
The Brigade will feature players from local community colleges, division II institutions, and other universities. With the influx of players from different locations, host families are needed for players. Those interested in becoming a host family for players can visit JCBrigade.com.
