Military Affairs Council Director Nate Butler said this week that MAC will be sponsoring banners for first responders. Veterans banners were put up downtown this past September through mid-November. "We're going to be reaching out to first responders, police department, fire department, ambulance, the whole gamut to include Fort Riley's responders. "
Butler noted that if they would like to purchase a banner they will be put up in June and the first half of July so that would extend through the Independence Day period.
The banners would be put up on Washington Street. "The banners are $150 but we put them up, we take them down, and give them back to you. Then next year when we do it again you pay $25 and we can put it back up."
Butler said specifics are being finalized, but they hope to get the information out to first responder departments really soon.
