Blue Jays win big on senior night, defeating Emporia 57-14

The Junction City Blue Jays defeated the Emporia Spartans 57-14 on senior night at Blue Jay Stadium on Friday night in Junction City. Junction City improves to 5-3 on the year with the win. 

The Blue Jay defense forced a quick three-and-out, and the offense wasted no time getting on the scoreboard. MC Taylor scored on a 18-yard touchdown run to begin the night for Junction City. The first of eight touchdowns on the night for the Blue Jay offense. 

Senior quarterback Brock Bazan had a nice game in his last regular season game at Blue Jay Stadium. Bazan had two passing touchdowns on the night, one to Losiah Autry, and the other to Cooper Bogenhagen. Other touchdown scorers on the night for the Blue Jays included Griffon Bohanon, Malaki Daniels (twice), and sophomore Lance Norris. 

"I am very pleased with our second half performance, and for the most part the first half as well," Junction City head football coach Randall Zimmerman said. 

Playoffs begin next week all across the state of Kansas. Junction City is expected to have a home game in the first round.
