The Junction City Lady Jay softball team is off to a 3-1 start this season. The Lady Jays are led by head coach Aaron Craig, who is in his eighth year as head coach.
So far this season, Junction City has a doubleheader sweep over Wichita East and a 1-1 split with Salina Central. The win over Salina Central was a come-from-behind victory, as the Lady Jays trailed 8-1 in the 3rd inning but completed the comeback, winning 13-10.
This year's varsity roster features seven seniors, including Macie Muto, Sara Rexrode, and Anja Vonspreckelsen, who are all key contributors. Other key contributors to this year's team include juniors Rilynn Hotard and Cassidy Miller.
The pitching staff for the Lady Jays are Macie Muto, Makenzie Thomas, and Anja Vonspreckelsen.
