Topeka High handles Junction City

JUNCTION CITY, Kan.— The Junction City Blue Jays fell to Topeka High on Friday night inside the Dungeon, 62-45.

A hot start for the Blue Jays had them up 20-15 after the first quarter, but from then on, offensive struggles would plague JC, allowing Topeka to surge ahead, and ultimately pull away.

The win Friday avenged Thursday night's win by Junction City in Shenk Gym.

Seth Clark's career night kept Junction City in the game until the late stages. Clark shot 8/13 from the field, hitting six three-pointers for a career-high 24 points. No other Blue Jay would score in double figures.

Jayden Leesman matched Clark's 24 points to lead the Trojans. B.J. Canady added 14, with 11 coming from Isiah Esquibel.

Junction City falls to 6-6 on the season, with Topeka improving to 2-9.

The Junction City Blue Jays will be back in action on Tuesday night, hosting the Seaman Vikings. The Lady Jays will tip-off at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow around 7:45.
