The Jayhawk Collegiate League All-Star game is set for 7:00 p.m. Saturday night in Hutchinson at Hobart-Detter Field. The Junction City Brigade will have a strong showing in the game, as 11 players were selected to play in the game, and Brigade head coach Nick George will be the coach for the Stripes team.
Junction City Brigade players participating in the game are listed below.
Pitchers: Sebastian Udland, Jackson Waggoner, Jett Wahlmeier, Sam Spiegel, Bryant Siemens, Keaton Matlick
Position Players / Hitters: Hayden Oviatt, Kyle Walker, Tyler Coffin, Logan Firgens, Chad Pantuso
Head Coach: Nick George
"These are guys that have been staples for us," Head Coach Nick George said. "They have helped us get to be where we are at."
Speaking on being selected to coach in the game, Nick George said, "It's a huge honor. I've got to tip my cap to the guys, I wouldn't be here, getting to do that without the groundwork that they've laid and all the games we've won up to this point."
Currently, with one week left in the season, the Junction City Brigade are in second place of the Jayhawk Collegiate League. The Brigade are 21-8 overall, and 19-8 in the Jayhawk Collegiate League.
