The Junction City Blue Jays scored a season high 92 points while holding Sumner Academy to 43 points in the first round of the 2024 Spring Hill Invitational Basketball Tournament. Despite nearly a 2-week hiatus due to weather, the Blue Jays controlled from start to finish and saw multiple players in double digits. Junior Jackson Austin lead the Blue Jays with 25 points, while junior Ja'Twaan Williams had 17. Also, Tre Ruffin scored 12 points and Lovell Autry finished with 11.
The Blue Jays advance to the semi-finals and will take on Gardner- Edgerton at 6:30 Thursday night. With the win, Junction City advances to 8 - 1 on the year.
