Junction City High School sophomore Jamarcus Tyson was named one of six new members to the Kansas State High School Activities Association Student Advisory Team on Wednesday. Tyson, who was the KSHSAA Class 6A selection, was joined by Jadyn Bollin (Lansing High School), Trista Welty (Clearwater High School), Charlie Budke (Beloit High School), Shaliah Ensley (Marion High School) and Lee Holopirek (Canton Galva High School).

Tyson’s service to his fellow students will begin in August of 2024. He will work together with Dodge City High School student Tatum Steiner to best represent Class 6A.  The six students, one from each of the six classifications of member schools, have been selected for a term of two years. There are six carryover seniors from last year’s team as well that will continue to serve on the 2024-25 Student Advisory Team.

There will be a rotation of six new members on the team each year. The role of the team will be to receive information and to provide input to the Executive Board, Board of Directors, and Association staff regarding Kansas State High School Activities Association issues. The SAT will also serve as a sounding board on proposals affecting students.
