JUNCTION CITY, Kan.  The Junction City High School basketball games versus Topeka High School originally scheduled for Tuesday, December 8 have been postponed.

The reschedule date has yet to be determined.

On the reason for the postponement, JCHS Athletic Director Matt Westerhaus explained that the Topeka USD  501 Board of Education established guidelines for their teams to play under. "Based on our guidelines that we submitted through District and Health Department they ( Topeka High ) can't play under those guidelines so we're unable to play. "  USD 475 teams are allowed to play without face masks but Topeka USD 501 teams are required to play with face masks. 501 has other requirements such as a limit on the number of players and coaches that can participate in their games.

Junction City High School's next action will be on Thursday, December 10 when the girls basketball team travels to Lawrence High School.

The boys and girls are both scheduled to play on Friday, December 11 against Great Bend High School inside Shenk Gym. Tip-off for the girls will be at 6:00 p.m., with the boys to follow.
