Shawnee Heights dominated Junction City in dual wrestling action Wednesday evening at the Shenk Gym. The final team score was 54-22 in favor of the Thunderbirds.

In the individual match competition Junction City picked up wins with Zach Petrusky at 113 pounds, Patrick Foxworth 126, CJ Neuman 152 and Joseph Vincent at 285 pounds.

Coach Tyler Gonzalez noted that Shawnee Heights coach Chad Parks has been at that school for awhile with a good program. "Those kids buy in and they wrestle hard for him. We saw that tonight. They're just a solid squad right now from top to bottom."

In the girls varsity competition Junction City picked up wins with Laila Lesher, Charly Goodwin and Brooke Swango. Gonzalez noted that if there was a silver lining to be proud of it was the girls team. "We only have eight or nine girls out right now so our depth chart is not like Shawnee Heights is and they've got 15 - 20 girls out on their wrestling team." Despite that the teams wrestled to a tie at 18-18.
