Rhonda Freeman of Junction City set the state record in the Master’s Division for Powerlifting in all three lifting categories for Kansas at the Trial by Iron competition at Forge Fitness in Wichita on Saturday.&nbsp; 

Rhonda competed in the 56 kg weight division and was able to squat 92.5 kg, bench 67.5 kg, and deadlift 120 kg.&nbsp; These results were made official and recorded March 4 by the United States Powerlifting Association.

Rhonda gave credit to the local Junction City Crossfit for introducing her to weightlifting. She had no athletic background prior to starting crossfit.&nbsp; 

The Olympic lifting offered at the crossfit gym helped her to transition into the world of powerlifting.&nbsp; Her first experience competing in any kind of powerlifting was in 2019 at the local nutritional supplement store, Performance Nutrition of Junction City.&nbsp;
