&nbsp;Gerald “Jerry” Dale Lindeman, age 88, of Manhattan, Kansas, died Tuesday May 3, 2022 at the Good Shepherd Hospice House in Manhattan. He was born on February 24, 1934 in Satanta, Kansas, the son of Walter and Helen (Jacobs) Lindeman. Jerry attended schools in Sublette and graduated from Sublette High School with the class of 1952. He then attended Kansas State University and earned his Bachelors Degree in Business. After college Jerry entered the U.S. Army. He served during the Korean Conflict from 1956-1958. He returned home after the army to work on the family farm. He went to work for Farm Bureau and worked for many years as an insurance adjuster and agent. Jerry worked in Great Bend, Garden City, Sublette and Cimarron. He was in Cimarron when he retired in 1996 and then later moved to Manhattan. On December 11, 1960 in Great Bend, Kansas, Jerry was united in marriage to Carma Goodwin. She survives at their home in Manhattan. Farming and life on the family farm was an important part of Jerry’s life. A day at the farm with his family and doing the farm chores was the best day anyone could have according to Jerry. In addition to his wife Carma, Jerry is survived by his children: Lori Rene` Lindeman, Brad Lee Lindeman, Traci Jo Woods (L.T.), and Todd Eric Lindeman; also, his grandson, Travis Dale Lindeman (Katy), and his great-grandson, Thomas David Lindeman. &nbsp;Kyler Bruce Alderson, 25, of Evans, Colorado, and formerly of Wamego, Kansas, passed away Monday, April 25, in Idaho from injuries sustained from a work-related accident.

&nbsp; &nbsp;Kyler was born on November 3rd, 1996, to Corey and Jane Alderson. He was the younger brother to Rikki (Alderson) Seeberger and a proud big brother to Ryann Alderson. Kyler spent his early childhood in Holton, KS until 2002 when he moved to his hometown of Wamego, KS. His childhood revolved around little league football, baseball, and basketball, all of which provided him with lifelong friends, family, and mentors.&nbsp;

&nbsp; &nbsp;Kyler graduated from Wamego High School in 2015 and was heavily involved in high school athletics including football, basketball, and baseball. He proudly held the role of QB1 for the&nbsp;

varsity football team and achieved honors including 2013 All-State Honorable Mention Quarterback, 2X All NCKL kicker, all-league quarterback, and 2014 All-Class 4A-II quarterback.

&nbsp; &nbsp;Following high school, he attended Hutchison Community College on a football scholarship in the fall of 2015 and later transferred to Highland Community College in the spring of 2016. Kyler attended Kansas State University for two semesters and was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Kyler’s biggest academic accomplishment came in 2020 when he graduated from Manhattan Area Technical College from their Electric Power and Distribution program.

&nbsp; &nbsp;Kyler always had a love for the mountains. He spent many spring breaks on family ski trips in Colorado and always said that he would live in Colorado someday.&nbsp; Upon graduation, Kyler accepted a job as an apprentice lineman with Altitude Energy and moved to Evans, CO just a couple weeks later, where he pursued a career as a lineman. Kyler had many co-workers who became dear friends. Kyler took pride in his career and the work he and his crew did. He never was the type of person who could work the typical 9-5 office job, so it was fitting when the opportunity came available for him to move to his favorite state and pursue a career that was physically challenging, allowing him to be outdoors and to travel the country.

&nbsp; &nbsp;Kyler loved being outdoors. He grew up attending annual fishing and hunting trips with his Grandpa Arnie, dad, and uncle, as well as annual skiing trips with his Grandpa Bruce and family. Whether it be “Church ball” with his high school best friends, a good old-fashioned day party, attending a sporting event or enjoying some live music with friends, Kyler could always be found outside.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Kyler was the perfect combination of ornery and loving. His favorite way of showing his sisters that he loved them was by picking on them but would always end a call with a “love you.”&nbsp; He was weird and goofy with the most contagious smile and laugh. People gravitated toward Kyler because of his positive energy.&nbsp; Kyler was a hard worker and stubborn. If there was something he wanted to do, he was going to make sure that it happened. Kyler was a committed friend. Kyler was always the life of the party and made sure that everybody’s glass was always full and that their hands were never empty, even if that was at the expense of his bank account.

&nbsp; &nbsp;Kyler was intentional and loved his family so much. Whether it was his weekly phone calls or texts with his parents, grandparents, and sisters, or a simple “good luck” text before a sporting event, he made sure people knew he was thinking of them.&nbsp;

&nbsp;Kyler is preceded in death by his two Grandfathers, Arnold (Arnie) Alderson and Bruce Cleveland. He is survived by both parents, Corey, and Jane Alderson, two siblings, Ryann Alderson, and Rikki Seeberger, one brother-in-law, Zach Seeberger, his beloved dog, Delilah, Grandmothers Dixie Alderson, and Gretchen Cleveland, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

William Douglas “Doug” Wenderott, 65, of Alma, Kansas, died unexpectedly, Sunday, April 24, 2022, at his home. He was a life-long resident of the community.

Doug was born on May 10, 1956, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of William B. and Janet A. (Fulton) Wenderott. He attended local grade school and graduated from Alma High School in 1974. He then attended Pratt Community College studying agriculture.

Doug was a rancher his entire adult life, working the family ranch west of Alma. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and any activity that involved his children or grandchildren. He was a “Jack of All Trades” and was known to be able to fix most anything. He was skilled in metal work, welding, and woodworking. Doug was an avid Jayhawk fan and also enjoyed watching the Chiefs and Royals play.

Doug married Christine Berroth on August 10, 1985, in Alma. She survives at their home.

Doug is also survived by his mother; Janet Wenderott, Alma, his children; Adam Wenderott (Jennifer), Alma, Todd Wenderott, Alma, and Jill Wenderott (Bryan VanSaders), Willow Springs, Illinois; his grandchildren, Hannah (Mitch), Tate, and Hudson; his sisters; Karen Vickery (Tim), Dallas, Texas and Jane Stuart (James), Plano, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Wenderott.

He was married on April 20, 1968, to Shirley Ann Suther for 54 yrs. They were married in the Saint Columbkille Catholic Church in Blaine, Kansas. He started his career at Farm Bureau as a computer programmer. He moved to Omaha, NE, and finished his career as an IT Project Manager for First Data Corporation. Larry and Shirley retired in Manhattan, Kansas in 2014. He was a member of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Manhattan and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Larry enjoyed attending Kansas State athletic events, gardening and being outdoors, and spending time with his family and grandchildren. Larry is survived by his wife, Shirley of their home; son, Chad Michael Rusink, of Nottingham, MD; a daughter, Robin Renee (Ryan) Symes, of Overland Park, four grandchildren: McKenzie Rusink, Isabella Rusink, Bailey Symes, and Keagan Symes. Linda Lee McClung, 79, passed away on March 1, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society-Valley Vista in Wamego, Kansas. The daughter of Bob and Gladys Hooton, Linda was born on June 18, 1942, in Niles, Michigan. She spent her infant through early grade school years in the small resort village of Hudson Lake, Indiana. Her father’s work as a successful salesman for Jewel Tea Company brought the family to Illinois and finally to Missouri. Linda excelled in music and art. Following her high school graduation, Linda was hired by Hallmark Cards, Inc. She worked in the Hallmark Lithography Department in Kansas City, Missouri. It was during this time, she met her first husband, Delbert D. Taylor. They moved with their newborn son Scott to Manhattan, Kansas in 1965. Their second child Rashelle was born in 1968 in Manhattan. After a divorce, Linda met her second husband Jim McClung while square dancing. Jimmy passed away from cancer in 2005. Linda’s adult life was centered around art, writing, dancing, music, theater, travel, and enjoying her children and grandchildren. She participated in numerous social groups. She was a member of American Legion Post 17 Auxiliary and Dance Club 2000. At Riley County Senior Service Center, she helped with Meals on Wheels and led a memoir writing group for many years. She published her memoirs, From My Perspective and continued writing until her passing. She was an active member of Sedalia Community Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Gladys Hooton and her husband, Jim McClung. She is survived by her loving companion Donald L. Zehr, Sr.; her children, Scott Taylor (Lynn) of Grovetown, Georgia, and her daughter Rashelle Dillon (Joe) of Manhattan; her siblings, Russell Hooton (Sandra), William “Bill” Hooton (Shelley), Randall Hooton (Sharon) and sister Kathy Edwards. Her beloved grandchildren are Amanda Reader (Andrew) of Lafayette, Indiana, Danielle Dillon and Noah Dillon of Manhattan, and step-grandchildren, Jessica Porter (Kevin) and their children, Linda’s step-great-grandchildren: Clayton, Bradley, and Alexandria “Lexi”, and Brandon Pope (Marissa). On March 25, 1962, Wilson, Kansas, he was united in marriage to Judith K. Nelson. Charlotte Jolene Lytle, 83, passed away on April 23, 2022, at Valley View Senior Life, Junction City, after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Cremation will take place. A memorial service will be held August 6, 2022.

She was born to Albert and Iva (Cooper) Stevenson on June 27, 1938.

Charlotte was a fun loving, generous person who loved all the simple things in life. Driving by a patch of wildflowers would always require an immediate stop. She could look at and pick those beauties for hours and even made pictures with real pressed flowers. She loved singing and had a lovely voice. She was really in her height of glory with her family singing and all taking turns. Charlotte never needed material things to make her happy, just love, hugs, and togetherness. She was never afraid to love life and often could see it through the eyes of a child. She was constantly dancing, singing, eating candy, and being carefree. She was a homemaker most of her life with a few jobs here and there.

Charlotte was married a couple of times and those marriages produced five children: Tim Lytle (Debbie) of Abilene, KS, Monty Lytle (Jan) of Salina, KS, Guy Lytle (Vicki) of Sacramento, CA, Charles Fletcher (Sheng Yen) of Beaumont, TX, and a beautiful daughter, Gaylene Beach, who passed away August 11, 1996. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews who loved her as that Silly Aunt Char.

She will be greatly missed but knowing she is hugging her daughter once again gives us comfort.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings: Shirley Reed, Steve (Bud) Stevenson, Bob Stevenson, Mary Carolyn Schmidt, Bert Stevenson, and Charlie Stevenson.

Frederick “Dwaine” Shorman passed to his heavenly choir on Sunday, April 24, 2022, at the age of 91.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Dwaine was born on July 22, 1930, the second son and third child of 
William Frederick and Lauretta Victoria Sumners Shorman in Morganville, 
Kansas.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

His elementary years were spent at Morganville and Clay Center 
Schools.&nbsp; He was president of his senior class and enjoyed sports, 
drama, and music. Dwaine graduated from Wakefield High School in 1948. 
He earned his private airplane pilot’s license in 1968 and later earned 
an Aircraft and Powerplant Mechanics license from Kansas State Tech 
Institute.&nbsp;

In 1953, he married Rosalie Woellhof of Clay Center and farming 
continued to be their way of life.&nbsp; He was a farm owner, manager, 
operator and mechanic for 53-plus years. &nbsp;Dwaine and Rosalie lived on 
their family homestead for 64 years, the same farm his 
great-grandparents owned. He enjoyed remodeling and upgrading their 
family home which was built in 1874. &nbsp;He took much pride and 
satisfaction in continuing this farming tradition of over 100 years.&nbsp; 
Other work accomplishments: worked ten years for the ASCS, represented 
Vigortone Feed and Archer Oil, and worked at Fullington 
Lumber.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Music was the enjoyment of his life and a song was always on his 
lips.&nbsp; His music career began in high school and developed into solo 
work, quartets, church choir, leading the singing and fulfilling 
requests at weddings, funerals, churches and community events.&nbsp; Playing 
the trombone and cornet was an added compliment to his musical 
accolades.

Dwaine enjoyed sharing his love of sports with his three boys.&nbsp;&nbsp; The 
family enjoyed flying, baseball, basketball, boating, waterskiing, snow 
skiing and riding motorcycles.

Some of Dwaine’s most memorable experiences involve a missionary work
 tour to Kenya, Africa, ministering along with his wife Rosalie, with 
the local Marriage Encounter group called “Flame," and members of the 
Holiday Ramblers Sunflower RV Club.

As a young man of 19, he committed his life to Christ.&nbsp; Dwaine was a 
member of the First Baptist Church and was a spiritual leader. He was 
involved in the music and drama ministry, taught Sunday school classes, 
and served as a deacon.

Dwaine loved being a family man.&nbsp;&nbsp; He was so proud of their three 
sons, Gary, Darcy and Mark, their wives, grandchildren, and great 
grandchildren.&nbsp; He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, 
brother, a good friend and neighbor.&nbsp;&nbsp; He will be missed by those who 
knew him as a friendly, kind, helpful, and caring person.

Dwaine was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Betty Jean, 
and brothers Don and Robert. &nbsp;He is survived by his wife Rosalie, his 
three sons and their families, two sisters, sister-in-law, and numerous 
nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Friday, April 29, 2022, at the 
First Baptist Church in Clay Center with Pastor Matthew Coleman 
officiating. The family will receive friends from 9:30 am until 10:30 am
 on Friday at the church. Burial will be at 3 pm in the Fairview 
Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or to Voice of the 
Martyrs and may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.

&nbsp; CW2 (RET) Jerry Lee Hall, Sr., 80, of Enterprise, KS, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, KS. Cremation will take place. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at St. Xavier Catholic Church. Fr. Gnanasekar Kulandi will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery. After the graveside service, a celebration of life reception will take place at the Earl C. Gormley American Legion Post #45 at 201 E. 4th Street, Junction City, KS. Jerry was born May 18, 1941, in Lakeview, MI, the son of Robert and June (Imhoff) Hall. He married Noreen O’Connor on October 27, 1964, in Crailsheim, Germany. Together, they had 5 children and shared 42 years of marriage until her death in 2007. Jerry enlisted in the United States Army on September 15, 1959. He served one tour in Vietnam and gave 20 years of selfless service to a military career. He was very proud of his time serving in the military and his time spent at Fort Riley, KS. It was his assignment to Fort Riley that established his family's residency in Junction City in 1978. After his military retirement in 1979, Jerry became the service manager at Don Coats Chevrolet. After working at Don Coats Chevrolet, he became a small business entrepreneur owning Central Auto Parts and Hall’s Retail Liquor. His small business ventures allowed him to pursue government contracting jobs. Jerry was a co-founder of Contract Services. He later became owner of Noran Inc. His contract services also encompassed the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He officially retired from all business capacities in 2008. Some of Jerry's hobbies included racing cars at the speedway on Friday night. He also enjoyed a good game of golf and spending time with his friends and colleagues at the American Legion. He was a giving soul, proud of his family, and a good friend to many. His lively personality left a legacy of lifetime friendships. Jerry will be fondly remembered, greatly missed and forever loved. &nbsp; CW2 (RET) Jerry Lee Hall, Sr., 80, of Enterprise, KS, passed away on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Salina Regional Health Center in Salina, KS. Cremation will take place. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022 at St. Xavier Catholic Church. Fr. Gnanasekar Kulandi will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow the service at St. Mary’s Cemetery. After the graveside service, a celebration of life reception will take place at the Earl C. Gormley American Legion Post #45 at 201 E. 4th Street, Junction City, KS. Jerry was born May 18, 1941, in Lakeview, MI, the son of Robert and June (Imhoff) Hall. He married Noreen O’Connor on October 27, 1964, in Crailsheim, Germany. Together, they had 5 children and shared 42 years of marriage until her death in 2007. Jerry enlisted in the United States Army on September 15, 1959. He served one tour in Vietnam and gave 20 years of selfless service to a military career. He was very proud of his time serving in the military and his time spent at Fort Riley, KS. It was his assignment to Fort Riley that established his family's residency in Junction City in 1978. After his military retirement in 1979, Jerry became the service manager at Don Coats Chevrolet. After working at Don Coats Chevrolet, he became a small business entrepreneur owning Central Auto Parts and Hall’s Retail Liquor. His small business ventures allowed him to pursue government contracting jobs. Jerry was a co-founder of Contract Services. He later became owner of Noran Inc. His contract services also encompassed the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He officially retired from all business capacities in 2008. Some of Jerry's hobbies included racing cars at the speedway on Friday night. He also enjoyed a good game of golf and spending time with his friends and colleagues at the American Legion. He was a giving soul, proud of his family, and a good friend to many. His lively personality left a legacy of lifetime friendships. Jerry will be fondly remembered, greatly missed and forever loved. &nbsp; Marvin W. Steinbrecker went to his eternal home on April 22, 2022 in Kansas City, KS due to complications of Parkinson’s. He was 87. After military service, he returned to the United Telephone Company as an installer and was later promoted to installation and repair supervisor. Bill was later promoted to Nebraska Manager/Senior Staff Advisor. In 1982, he was transferred to United Telecom in Garnett, KS as a Customer Relations Representative. In 1987, he was then transferred to Junction City, KS as a Construction Control Administrator. Bill retired from Sprint in 1999 in Junction City, KS where he worked for 42 years. He promptly joined the Junction City McDonald’s morning coffee club with the boys. He loved family vacations at Table Rock Lake as well fishing and golfing. He and Gin were able to enjoy several cruises and travel to many different countries including being sponsors of the 1979 Scottsbluff Marching Band Europe Tour. He always had a quick wit and dry sense of humor. Always a Husker fan. Bill accepted Christ and was active in church by serving as deacon and youth group sponsor in Nebraska and Kansas. Bill is survived by his wife, Gin of 65 years; his daughter and son-in-law, Marla and Rick Ronquillo of Albuquerque, NM; his daughter, Heather Setter of Manhattan, KS; four grandchildren: Jory and Clare Setter of Midvale, UT, Jackson Setter of Minneapolis, MN, James Ronquillo and fiancée Julia of Albuquerque, NM and Elise Ronquillo and finance Palmer of Denver, CO; great- granddaughter, Genevieve Setter and one on the way in July. He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Esther Harimon and Darleen Vogel and infant brother, Bobby. On December 14, 2021, with loving family at her bedside, sweet Lisa Gayle (Sassy) Pinnick Herrs, age 57, flew away to heaven to join her brother Rob Pinnick. Lisa was born January 7, 1964 in Wakeeney Kansas to Jack and Judy Rice Pinnick. From 5th grade on, she enjoyed playing her flute in the band and singing in high school groups. In Junior High, as part of her Girl Scout “Challenge of the Arts”, she auditioned to play in the Salina Symphony Orchestra and was accepted. Many Saturdays, her mother drove her the 200-mile round trip from Blue Rapids to practice with the Salina Orchestra. She was selected to sing at her high school graduation. One weekend, when the family was camped at Fancy Creek State Park in a bus with the name of a band on it, a Park Ranger asked if they could provide music for the Sunday morning park services. Judy volunteered Lisa, who played “It Is No Secret” on her flute. Lisa graduated from Valley Heights High School in 1982. Her flute playing won her a scholarship to Cloud County Community College. She graduated with an Associate’s Degree in 1984. She enjoyed working at many different jobs in Marysville and Manhattan. She made lots of friends at each place of employment. Lisa was an avid football fan, sometimes watching several football games in one day. She enjoyed following the careers of KSU football players. Her favorite football teams were the Green Bay Packers (Jordy Nelson), the Seattle Seahawks (Tyler Lockett), the Kansas City Chiefs and of course the K-State Wildcats. She was also an avid fan of K-State women's basketball. Lisa was preceded in death by her father Jack Pinnick and by her oldest brother Robert Pinnick, both of Blue Rapids, and by her uncle James Rice of the Philippines. &nbsp;Linda Lee McClung, 79, passed away on March 1, 2022, at Good Samaritan Society-Valley Vista in Wamego, Kansas. The daughter of Bob and Gladys Hooton, Linda was born on June 18, 1942, in Niles, Michigan. She spent her infant through early grade school years in the small resort village of Hudson Lake, Indiana. Her father’s work as a successful salesman for Jewel Tea Company brought the family to Illinois and finally to Missouri. Linda excelled in music and art. Following her high school graduation, Linda was hired by Hallmark Cards, Inc. She worked in the Hallmark Lithography Department in Kansas City, Missouri. It was during this time, she met her first husband, Delbert D. Taylor. They moved with their newborn son Scott to Manhattan, Kansas in 1965. Their second child Rashelle was born in 1968 in Manhattan. After a divorce, Linda met her second husband Jim McClung while square dancing. Jimmy passed away from cancer in 2005. Linda’s adult life was centered around art, writing, dancing, music, theater, travel, and enjoying her children and grandchildren. She participated in numerous social groups. She was a member of American Legion Post 17 Auxiliary and Dance Club 2000. At Riley County Senior Service Center, she helped with Meals on Wheels and led a memoir writing group for many years. She published her memoirs, From My Perspective and continued writing until her passing. She was an active member of Sedalia Community Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Gladys Hooton and her husband, Jim McClung. She is survived by her loving companion Donald L. Zehr, Sr.; her children, Scott Taylor (Lynn) of Grovetown, Georgia, and her daughter Rashelle Dillon (Joe) of Manhattan; her siblings, Russell Hooton (Sandra), William “Bill” Hooton (Shelley), Randall Hooton (Sharon) and sister Kathy Edwards. &nbsp;Terry Boltze passed away quietly while holding her sister’s hand on Easter Sunday morning. She was 68 years old.

Terry Sue (Newman) Boltze was a Mother’s Day gift, being born on May 10, 1953 in Topeka, Kansas to Donald L. and Bessie D. Newman. She grew up in Topeka, graduating from Highland Park High School in 1971. After graduation, she worked as a service station attendant and bookkeeper for Quality Oil on South Highway 75. She met and married Dennis Boltze on September 16, 1972 and gave birth to a son, Jason Allen Boltze on November 24, 1974. She got divorced in 1976. Terry left Topeka and moved to Somerset, Kentucky in 1978, later moving to Panama City Beach, Florida.

In 1990, she moved to Columbus, Georgia and began working for Wal-Mart as an overnight stocker. She worked her way through several positions, culminating with the Garden Center Supervisor. In 2001 she found her way back home to Kansas, and didn’t even need ruby red slippers; only the love of her mother and sister! She went to work at the Wal-Mart Super Center, later transferring to the North Topeka store when it opened. When the Neighborhood Wal-Mart opened in Highland Park, she transferred to that store, where she retired in 2018. Terry loved cooking, flower gardening, watching NASCAR races and spending time with her family, friends and her cats.

Terry is survived by her son Jason (Johanna) Boltze of Florida, her sister Vicki (Dan) Key of Kansas, a nephew and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David Newman. Terry will be cremated and a Memorial Service will be held in early June.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Doyle was born in Horton, KS on January 21, 1941, the son of the late Pearl Belle (Baker) and White &nbsp;Barnes. He was preceded in death by his husband Sherwood "Skip" &nbsp;Bishop. Doyle graduated from the Kickapoo Nation School in Powhattan, Kansas; he received his Masters's Degree from Emporia State University in Education and received the 1996 Kansas Master Teacher. He attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Manhattan. Doyle is survived by his two daughters, Kali (John) Williamson, of Silsbee, TX; &nbsp;Angela (Jaymon) Hotz, of Bremerton, WA; two sons Philip (Amy) Barnes, of Shawnee, KS; &nbsp;Sterling (DaVonna Smitley) Barnes, of Liberty, MO. Doyle was born in Horton, KS on January 21, 1941, the son of the late Pearl Belle (Baker) and White &nbsp;Barnes. He was preceded in death by his husband Sherwood "Skip" &nbsp;Bishop. Doyle graduated from the Kickapoo Nation School in Powhattan, Kansas; he received his Masters's Degree from Emporia State University in Education and received the 1996 Kansas Master Teacher. He attended the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Manhattan. Doyle is survived by his two daughters, Kali (John) Williamson, of Silsbee, TX; &nbsp;Angela (Jaymon) Hotz, of Bremerton, WA; two sons Philip (Amy) Barnes, of Shawnee, KS; &nbsp;Sterling (DaVonna Smitley) Barnes, of Liberty, MO. He is also surviDoyleed by nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. &nbsp;Doyle was preceded in death by his parents, husband, Skip; a sister, Dorothy Tollefson, and two brothers, Melvin Barnes and Donald Barnes. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 20th at the funeral home from noon until 2:00 pm. &nbsp;Charles Lynn Slate, 65, of Westmoreland, Kansas, passed from this life at 8:21 p.m. Sunday (April 17, 2022) at the Wamego Health Center.

&nbsp; Born April 7, 1957 in Duncan, OK, Lynn was the son of James C. and Johnnye Rhea (Moore) Slate.&nbsp; He was married to Dossie Johnson who survives.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Lynn was employed at Travalum Trailers (now Cimarron Trailers) in Manhattan for over 18 years.

&nbsp;&nbsp; He was an avid Oklahoma University fan.&nbsp; He enjoyed motorcycles and was known for his precision in detailing cars

&nbsp;&nbsp; Surviving is his wife, Dossie; a son, Christopher Slate and his wife, Sandi of Wamego, KS; a daughter, Kymberly Langford of Yukon, OK; two grandchildren, Kyler Coats and Britleigh McDonald; two brothers, David Slate and his wife, Trena and Bill Slate both of Duncan, OK; two sisters, Betty Skiles and Karen Posey and her husband, Walter both of Duncan, OK; and several nieces and nephews.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Lynn was preceded in death by his parents.

&nbsp;&nbsp; Cremation arrangements are in the care of Campanella &amp; Stewart Funeral Home.
