SHAWNEE COUNTY – Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas man found with oxycodone laced with fentanyl.

On Monday, the Shawnee County Sheriff's office drug enforcement unit and SWAT team served a search warrant at a residence in the 2900 Block of SW Gage Blvd. in Topeka, according to Deputy Abigail Christian.

The search warrant was generated after criminal intelligence lead to the discovery of oxycodone pills laced with fentanyl being sold in Shawnee County. This investigation stemmed from an overdose back in February.

Multiple firearms, marijuana, drug paraphernalia, cash, and opioids were recovered and seized during this operation.

Authorities also arrested Francisco Javier Cazares-Nava, 27, Topeka, and booked into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections on requested charges that include possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of opiates with intent to distribute, and aggravated child endangerment.

The federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) assisted with this operation, according to Christian.

SALINE COUNTY, Kan. (AP) — The stepmother of&nbsp; Colorado boy missing for over a month was arrested Monday in connection with his disappearance and presumed death, authorities said.

Letecia Stauch was arrested in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and is being extradited to Colorado on charges including first-degree murder of a child in the death of 11-year-old Gannon Stauch, according to El Paso County Sheriff Bill Elder. The boy remains missing.

Letecia Stauch was held overnight Wednesday in the Saline County Kansas jail on her return to Colorado, according to online booking records.

“All evidence points to the disappearance of Gannon being foul play," FBI Denver special agent Dean Phillips said.

The document laying out the reasons for Letecia Stauch’s arrest was sealed and investigators and prosecutors declined to discuss details.

It was not known if Stauch has a lawyer representing her yet. She also faces charges including child abuse resulting in death, tampering with a deceased human body and tampering with physical evidence, Elder said.

The sheriff’s office previously said that Stauch reported Gannon missing on Jan. 27, saying he left to go to a friend's house in the afternoon. Authorities called him a runaway when it first asked the public for help finding him. Three days later authorities said he was considered a missing and endangered child because of the length of time he had been gone, his age and his reliance on medication. Authorities did not describe the medication.

Gannon's mother, Landen Hiott, sobbed during the press conference announcing the arrest, at times leaning on Gannon's father, Al Stauch.

“I never thought I would be standing here. It's a nightmare,” Hiott said.

Al Stauch, who is married to Letecia Stauch, said in a statement read by a sheriff’s department spokeswoman that the person responsible for his son’s death is someone that he gave more to than anyone else in the world.

“And that is a burden I that I will carry with me for a very long time,” Al Stauch's statement said.

Stepmother in disappearance of missing Colo. boy held in Salina jail

JACKSON COUNTY— Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas man on drug charges after a traffic stop.

Just before 5:30p.m. Monday, a sheriff's deputy stopped a 1978 Nuwa recreation vehicle near 4th and Montana in Holton for an alleged traffic violation, according to sheriff Tim Morse.

Deputies located a&nbsp;significant amount of what is believed to be methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the RV.

They arrested the driver identified as Charles Lloyd Barrand, 40, of Topeka and booked him into the Jackson County Jail on requested charges of possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, felony interference with law enforcement, driving while revoked and no insurance.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Sheriff: Kan. deputies find RV full of meth, drug paraphernalia

SHAWNEE COUNTY – Law enforcement authorities continue their investigation of a violent incident involving a 12-year-old girl captured on video that has gone viral on social media.

The incident reportedly took place on February 20 in the 1200 block of SW Washburn Avenue in Topeka, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Koenen.

The incident was reported to the Topeka Police Department shortly after noon that day.&nbsp; A 14-year-old girl was injured during the incident.

Police took the 12-year-old into custody. Following questioning and further investigation, they arrested the girl and booked her in the Shawnee County Juvenile Department of Corrections for a felony Aggravated Battery charge.

Authorities this week initiated legal proceedings involving a total of 5 juvenile girls related to this and a similar attack in Topeka in February, according to the Shawnee County Attorney's office.&nbsp; They released no additional details.

Charges filed against 5 Kansas girls after video of attack went viral

BARTON COUNTY —Seven separate search warrants resulted in the arrest of six individuals Wednesday in three Kansas counties, according to Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir.

Just after 8 a.m. Wednesday, multiple law enforcement agencies began executing search warrants throughout Barton County. Additional search warrants were executed in Stafford and Pawnee Counties. The Barton County Sheriff’s office and the Great Bend Police Department had cultivated information from various sources revealing a network used to distribute methamphetamine.

Barton County Sheriff Brian Bellendir says one of the sources was an inmate in the Barton County Jail who was orchestrating drug deals on a recorded line. The inmate didn't know detectives were monitering the calls.

Bellendir says the execution of the search warrants found evidence of drug distribution and money laundering. A large amount of US currency, methamphetamine, drug processing materials and firearms were seized. At one location three preschool age children were taken into protective custody and released to the Juvenile Justice Authority.

Six suspects were arrested and transported to the Barton County Jail. They include:

Amy Zapata age 31 of Great Bend was arrested and booked for money laundering, distribution of methamphetamine, aggravated child endangerment, possession of paraphernalia as well as a Rice County District Court warrant. She’s being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond.

John Paul Zapata age 33 of Great Bend was arrested and booked for money laundering, distribution of methamphetamine, aggravated child endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia. He is being held on the $20,000 bond.

Zach Thompson age 25 of Hoisington was arrested and booked for distribution of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal possession of a firearm as well as interference with law enforcement officer. Thompson is being held in lieu of a $100,000 bond.

Linda Fernandez age 37 of rural St. John was arrested for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine in Pawnee County and transported back to the Barton County jail. She’s being held in lieu of a $20,000 bond.

Alicia Dannebohm age 42 of Great Bend was arrested and booked for possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. She was released on a $10,000 bond.

Marcus Snow age 42 of Hoisington was arrested and booked for possession of methamphetamine possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Snow was released on a $10,000 bond.

Deputies arrest 6 Kansas suspects in multi-county drug bust

WICHITA, KAN. –&nbsp;A 55-count federal indictment with 24 defendants unsealed Wednesday alleges that an inmate ran a drug ring in Wichita from a prison cell in the Oklahoma State Penitentiary, according to U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister.

Federal agents began investigating in April 2019 and reviewed thousands of intercepted messages among the alleged traffickers.

"A large scale criminal drug conspiracy operating in Kansas whose shot caller is behind bars in another state talking on a cell phone makes this a unique case in my experience," McAllister said. "To the alleged traffickers, I think I would say: Can you hear us now?"

The indictment contains detailed descriptions of defendants going about their daily chores, negotiating prices, handling hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and trying to do business without drawing attention.

"Today's arrests and indictments send a clear message: whether you are behind bars or on the street, you will be held accountable.&nbsp;Today, over a 100 federal, state and local officers, working together executed dozens of arrests.&nbsp;The impact of these arrests will be immediate, and our community will be safer due largely in part to the tireless work and dedication of our law enforcement partners.&nbsp;I applaud their dedication and commitment to the community we are sworn to serve," said Timothy Langan, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI in Kansas City, Missouri.

Travis Knighten, 47, who is being held at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester, Okla., is alleged to have been the brains behind a criminal organization that distributed methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine powder, crack cocaine and marijuana in Wichita.

Communicating by cell phone calls and text messages, Knighten is alleged to have directed the movements of almost two dozen conspirators. The indictment alleges Knighten used cell phones obtained while in custody to receive information and to coordinate times and locations for meetings with suppliers. Knighten put together deals with the assistance of a co-defendant who also is an inmate in the same prison,&nbsp;Armando Luna, 39. 

Knighten also worked with a treasurer outside the prison walls, co-defendant&nbsp;Travis Vontress, 43, Wichita, Kan., as well as other close associates who collected funds to pay suppliers. Lower ranking conspirators were responsible for maintaining stash houses, cutting, packaging and storing drugs, reselling the final products and other duties.

Although Knighten is being held in Oklahoma, he is still under the authority of the Kansas Department of Corrections. He is serving a 90-year sentence for killing a corrections officer at Lansing Correctional Facility on May 22, 1993. The victim, Officer Mark Avery, died of head injuries received during a fight in the prison recreation building.

In text messages and in phone calls, Knighten and the co-conspirators avoided using words that anyone overhearing them might too easily recognize. They used a variety of slang terms instead. For instance, they might call methamphetamine "ice hockey." Heroin could be called "Jordan." Cocaine could be "soda." Sometimes crack cocaine was "hard" and "gorilla" could be the word for marijuana.

During the conspiracy, many of the co-defendants were known to one another by their street names instead of their given names. Examples include Bizz, P-Boy, E, Booty, YT, Troub, Diablo, Wack, Shot, Leggs, Gray, Bink, Funk, Godfather and Punch.

The conspirators are alleged to have maintained five properties in Wichita as stash houses for processing and storing drugs, including 930 N. Yale, 2548 Somerset, 245 N. Chautauqua, 1411 N. Holyoke and 429 N. Green.

Charges and potential penalties include: Operating a continuing criminal enterprise (count 1):&nbsp;Not less than 20 years and a fine up to $2 million.

Conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine (count 2): Not less than 10 years and a fine up to $10 million.&nbsp; Conspiracy to distribute marijuana (count 3): Up to five years and a fine up to $250,000.  </figure>WICHITA, KAN. –&nbsp;A 55-count federal indictment with 24 defendants unsealed Wednesday alleges that an inmate ran a drug ring in Wichita from a prison cell in the Oklahoma State Penitentiary, according to U.S. Attorney Stephen McAllister.Federal agents began investigating in April 2019 and reviewed thousands of intercepted messages among the alleged traffickers."A large scale criminal drug conspiracy operating in Kansas whose shot caller is behind bars in another state talking on a cell phone makes this a unique case in my experience," McAllister said. The indictment alleges Knighten used cell phones obtained while in custody to receive information and to coordinate times and locations for meetings with suppliers. Knighten put together deals with the assistance of a co-defendant who also is an inmate in the same prison,&nbsp;Armando Luna, 39. Knighten also worked with a treasurer outside the prison walls, co-defendant&nbsp;Travis Vontress, 43, Wichita, Kan., as well as other close associates who collected funds to pay suppliers. Lower ranking conspirators were responsible for maintaining stash houses, cutting, packaging and storing drugs, reselling the final products and other duties.90-YEAR SENTENCEAlthough Knighten is being held in Oklahoma, he is still under the authority of the Kansas Department of Corrections. He is serving a 90-year sentence for killing a corrections officer at Lansing Correctional Facility on May 22, 1993. The victim, Officer Mark Avery, died of head injuries received during a fight in the prison recreation building.In text messages and in phone calls, Knighten and the co-conspirators avoided using words that anyone overhearing them might too easily recognize. They used a variety of slang terms instead. For instance, they might call methamphetamine "ice hockey." Heroin could be called "Jordan." Cocaine could be "soda." Sometimes crack cocaine was "hard" and "gorilla" could be the word for marijuana.During the conspiracy, many of the co-defendants were known to one another by their street names instead of their given names. Examples include Bizz, P-Boy, E, Booty, YT, Troub, Diablo, Wack, Shot, Leggs, Gray, Bink, Funk, Godfather and Punch.The conspirators are alleged to have maintained five properties in Wichita as stash houses for processing and storing drugs, including 930 N.  Indictment: Inmate ran Kan. drug ring from Oklahoma prison

A federal judge has declined to dismiss most of the counts in a civil
 lawsuit brought by Lamonte McIntyre and his mother over his conviction 
for a double murder he did not commit and his subsequent 23-year 
imprisonment.

The blistering 70-page ruling Tuesday by U.S. 
District Judge Kathryn H. Vratil came in response to motions to throw 
out the lawsuit by the defendants — the Unified Government of Wyandotte 
County; Roger Golubski, a now-retired Kansas City, Kansas, detective who
 was instrumental in framing McIntyre; and other policemen involved in 
the trumped-up investigation.

Although Vratil agreed to dismiss 
some of the lawsuit’s counts on technical legal grounds, she left 
standing most of the counts in the lawsuit, allowing the case to proceed
 to a possible trial.

Cheryl Pilate, one of the McIntyres’ attorneys, said she was gratified by the ruling.

“Lamonte
 and Rosie suffered enormously through the 23 years of Lamonte’s 
wrongful incarceration, and they look forward to presenting their case 
to a jury,” Pilate said in an email.&nbsp;

McIntyre was 17 when he was
 arrested in 1994 for the shotgun killings of Doniel Quinn, 21, and 
Donald Ewing, 34. He was convicted and given two life sentences. He was 
freed from prison in October 2017 after the two alleged eyewitnesses in 
the case recanted their testimony and the Wyandotte County district 
attorney concluded the case involved a “manifest injustice.”

Last
 month, the state of Kansas awarded McIntyre $1.55 million and a 
certificate of innocence under a new Kansas law enacted to compensate 
wrongfully imprisoned defendants.

In laying out the factual 
background of the case, Vratil was unsparing in her description of how 
Golubski acted to coerce witnesses into giving fabricated testimony and 
to railroad McIntyre.

“Since the early 1980s, Roger Golubski used
 his power as a police officer to exploit sex from vulnerable black 
women in the north end of Kansas City, Kansas,” Vratil wrote at the 
outset of her ruling. “To do so, he threatened arrest and prosecution, 
fixed tickets, made warrants disappear and paid money and drugs. He 
would often fixate on particular women, harassing them continually for 
months or even years. These predilections and abuses were well known 
among other officers and supervisors within the Kansas City, Kansas 
Police Department ('KCKPD'). They knew – and even joked about – 
Golubski’s practice of arresting black prostitutes, forcing them to have
 sex (often at the precinct house itself) and then releasing them 
without pressing charges.”

Golubski’s attorney, Morgan Roach, said he did not have a chance to 
thoroughly review Vratil’s ruling and declined to comment. Golubski, who
 retired about a decade ago as a police captain after more than 30 years
 on the Kansas City, Kansas, police force, could not be reached for 
comment.&nbsp;

One of the women Golubski exploited was McIntyre’s 
mother, Rose McIntyre, whom Golubski sexually assaulted at his police 
station office, according to Vratil’s recounting of the facts. Another 
officer who opened Golubski’s door and saw what was happening left 
without saying anything.

Golubski’s harassment continued over 
time even after Rose McIntyre rejected his advances, ultimately leading 
her to move to a new home and change her phone number in the hope he 
would stop terrorizing her.

In April 1994, Golubski ginned up 
evidence against McIntyre for the slaying of Quinn and Ewing as they sat
 in a parked car. Golubski coerced two women, one of whom he had a 
sexual relationship with, into identifying McIntyre as the killer. Both 
were pressured into picking out McIntyre’s photo from an array of five 
photos – three of which were of Lamonte and two of his close relatives.

Golubski
 and other police officer spent no more than six hours investigating the
 murders, Vratil said, before pinning them on McIntyre and arresting 
him.

Evidence later developed by McIntyre’s lawyers showed that 
the murder was committed by Neil Edgar Jr., better known as “Monster,” 
who worked for a local drug kingpin.

McIntyre and his mother 
filed their civil lawsuit shortly after McIntyre was exonerated in 2017.
 They amended the lawsuit in September.

The defendants “regularly
 engaged in improper and illegal acts to obtain unreliable and often 
falsified evidence for the purpose of closing cases and intentionally 
protected certain notorious drug dealers from arrest by wrongfully 
arresting other residents of the community for the dealers' crimes,” the
 lawsuit states.

The nine-count suit seeks unspecified 
compensatory and punitive damages for violations of the McIntyres’ 
constitutional rights and various state laws. While declining to dismiss
 most of the counts against the defendants, Vratil did agree with the 
Unified Government that, under Kansas law, it cannot be held liable for 
punitive damages.

Judge: Wrongfully convicted man's civil case can proceed 

SEDGWICK COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two suspects for a series of burglaries that involve 26 felony counts and 28 misdemeanor counts.

Just after 2:30p.m. February 11, police were investigating the theft of a backpack from a vehicle at a business in the 3700 Block of North Woodlawn, according to officer Charley Davidson.

Officers located the car in an apartment complex in the 400 Block of West Central in Wichita. As they approached, Everett fled on foot along with another suspect identified as 33-year-old James Fulfer of Wichita.&nbsp; After a brief chase, police arrested both of them.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Everett was in possession of a window punch and Fulfer had property from the thefts on North Woodlawn. 

Through several days of compiling information, speaking to victims and reviewing video evidence, investigators tied the two suspects to twenty police investigations involving theft from vehicles, according to Davidson.

Everett was formally charged Tuesday with 9 counts of burglary to auto, theft, 7 counts of criminal damage to property, 7 counts of unlawful use of a financial card, 2 counts of attempted unlawful use of a financial card and an aggravated weapons violation, according to Davidson. He has previous convictions that include criminal damage to property, burglary, theft, criminal trespass and theft by deception, according to Davidson.

Fulfer was formally charged Tuesday with 5 counts of burglary to auto, one count of felony theft, 4 counts of theft, 5 counts of criminal damage to property, possession of drug paraphernalia, meth and unlawful use of a&nbsp; financial card. He has previous convictions that include possession of narcotics and criminal possession of a weapon, according to Davidson.

2 Kansas felons connected with 20 police investigations

SEDGWICK COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities are investigating a pair of armed robberies and have a suspect in custody.

Just before 10p.m. Monday, police responded to an armed robbery call at Arby's restaurant in the 1100 Block of South Rock Road in Wichita,&nbsp;according to officer Charley Davidson.

A 20-year-old employee told police a teen entered the business wearing a clown mask, holding a knife and demanding cash.

The suspect took money and fled the business on foot. Witnesses said they saw the suspect leave in a Silver Chevy Impala. Officers located the Impala near the robbery. The suspect and a driver fled the car. Police caught and arrested the 16-year-old suspect but didn't find the driver. Police learned the car had been stolen in Derby.

Just before this armed robbery, police had responded to an armed robbery at a Burger King in the 200 Block of South Rock Road. Two employees told police a teen wearing a clown mask had entered the business wearing a clown mask, holding a knife and demanding cash. The suspect attempted to pry open the register with the knife. When he was unable to open the register, the suspect fled, according to Davidson.

The 16-year-old is being held on requested charges of aggravated robbery, kidnapping and assault, according to Davidson. Officers also located a knife and clown mask in the stolen car. The teen has previous arrests for aggravated robberies from 2019.

Upon arrival, officers located a victim identified as&nbsp;19-year-old Ja’Sean Alston Topeka, in a vehicle suffering from life-threatening injuries.

EMS transported the Alston to a local hospital where he died.&nbsp;

Just after 2p.. Monday, police arrested 18-year-old Dmario M. Valdivia of Topeka on requested charges of&nbsp;1st Degree Murder, Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Robbery, according to police spokesperson Gretchen Koenen.&nbsp;No formal charges have been filed, and it wasn't immediately clear if Valdivia had an attorney.

It is the city’s second homicide of 2020.

Update: Kan. teen arrested for kidnapping, murder 

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Two more Kansas State players are in legal trouble after being arrested.

Safety Wayne Jones, 19, and linebacker Daniel Green, 21, were arrested together Monday night on a charge of marijuana possession, Riley County police said. Green was also charged with driving while suspended, WIBW&nbsp;<a href="https://www.wibw.com/content/news/Two-more-K-State-football-players-arrested-overnight-568442951.html">reported</a>.

The players each were released after posting $1,000 bond.

Three other Wildcats football players were arrested during the weekend.

Freshman running back Jacardia Wright was arrested Sunday morning on an outstanding warrant for failing to show proof of insurance. Freshman linebacker DeMarrquese Hayes and sophomore linebacker Nick Allen were arrested separately Saturday night on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Coach Chris Klieman said Tuesday he was “extremely disappointed in the poor choices made recently by some of our student-athletes.”

“We have high expectations within our program, and when those expectations are not met, there are consequences,” he said. “The high standards and expectations within our football program will not change, and the character and integrity of the players on our team will not be compromised.”

Kansas State said Klieman will handle all disciplinary action.

2 more KSU football players arrested, both on pot charges

BARTON COUNTY — Law enforcement authorities have made five arrests after a drug bust in Barton County.

Just after 6p.m. Monday,&nbsp; sheriff’s deputies and detectives executed a search warrant in the 2000 block of Baker Street in the City of Great Bend, according to Sheriff Brian Bellendir.

Upon entry into the residence deputies discovered five individuals inside. All five were detained.

During the course of the investigation detectives discovered evidence that distribution of methamphetamine was taking place at the location. Sheriff’s officers discovered methamphetamine, scales and packaging material.

Deputies arrested Ronald Cornell, 62 of Ellinwood on requested charges of distribution of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The second individual identified as Mark Spear, age 63 of Great Bend. Spear was arrested on requested charges that include possession of methamphetamine. Both individuals were transported and booked at the Barton County Jail without incident.

The remaining three individuals were released at the scene.

JACKSON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two men from Texas after a weekend traffic stop.

Just after 9:30p.m. Saturday a Jackson County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a 2017 Ford passenger car on U.S. 75 north of 118th Road for multiple traffic infractions, according to Sheriff Tim Morse.

 The driver, Jedidiah B. Hunter, 25, of Dallas, Texas was arrested for driving without a valid driver’s license, felony possession of ecstasy, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and felon in possession of a firearm. 

The passenger in the vehicle, Aaron O. Hunter, 28, of Dallas, Texas was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, criminal use of a weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.  Both subjects are being held in the Jackson County Jail.

Kansas deputies arrest felon from Texas after traffic stop

BARTON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating two&nbsp; suspects after separate traffic stops in Great Bend

Just before 2p.m. Sunday, police stopped a 2003 Pontiac in the 2700 block of 24th for a traffic violation. During the stop, K-9, Menta, was deployed for a sniff around the vehicle and indicated an odor of an illegal drug in the vehicle. The vehicle was searched and methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found.

Police arrested 55-year old David Meitler and booked him at Barton County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond. He has a previous drug conviction in Pawnee County in 2005, according to the Kansas Department of Corrections.

Just after 7:30p.m. February 28, police pulled over a driver in the 2300 block of Monroe in Great Bend and recognized the driver as 58-year old Earnest Klima and knew he was driving without a license, according to a media release.

As Klima was arrested, the officer located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia on him. Klima was booked at Barton County Jail in lieu of a $10,000 bond.

Police K9 helps in arrest of Kansas felon during traffic stop

MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Three Kansas State University football players were arrested over the weekend, including a talented freshman on an outstanding warrant and two others on suspicion of impaired driving.

Redshirt freshman running back Jacardia Wright was arrested early Sunday near the university on an outstanding warrant for failing to show proof of insurance. Wright rushed for 122 yards and a touchdown last season in three games. Riley County police spokeswoman Hali Rowland said Wright was freed on bond.

3 Kansas State football players arrested in separate events

TOPEKA –Law enforcement authorities are investigating a fatal weekend shooting and made an arrest.

Just before 1a.m. Saturday, officers responded to a home in the 1400 block of SW Van Buren in Topeka, regarding a shooting, according to Lt. Steve Roth.

On arrival, officers located a deceased man later identified as Kelly Parker, Sr., 51, Topeka.

Quick follow up led to police taking Raishawn Smith-Parker, 47, Topeka&nbsp; into custody for questioning.&nbsp; Police later arrested and transported her to the Shawnee County Department of Corrections for 2nd Degree Murder, according to Roth.

The investigation indicates this shooting stemmed from a domestic disturbance, according to Roth.&nbsp; Police have released no additional details.

Police later found an SUV matching the description of the one involved in the shooting and bearing several bullet holes, and one person was arrested.
